What's with the bias?

I just read through a couple threads, a poll - and an idea that looked great.
Both threads shut down... The idea thread shut down not due to profanity, trolling, advertising a non-official site, or any sort of thing like that, it was locked due purely to bias. The idea was a great one - though needed to be looked into further and turned into more of a reality, but how can that happen when the thread has become locked? No more discussion on the topic is to be allowed in the thread.

The poll, ok, I'll give you guys the fact that the poll itself was slightly biased, giving 3 answers for one of 2 actual options and 2 to the other option (guess which got 3!! go ahead, guess!). Perhaps it could have been reduced in options or have been worded differently.

The thing here is, these threads were discussing legitimate ways to help the game, which it is in desperate need of, yet instead of allowing discussion to take place, the biased love for all things trammel caused the two threads to be locked.

I have not been seen on these forums in a while, anyone curious as to why? Why was it so easy for me - someone who loves this game to death to be pulled away from it not once but twice so far this year for over one month each time? I have been playing other games... and if the Devs don't do something good for the game soon, they may lose me and many others very soon, in my case, it will be for good.

The bias needs to stop, the ignorance toward the long neglected player base (by both stratics and EA) needs to stop.
If it doesn't, what began with Lord Blackthorn's Revenge (more accurately Mondain's Legacy) will continue until there is nothing left.

Some topics are 99% sure to devolve into pointless flame wars. Mods were probably just being overly cautious. And this thread will probably be locked, since you are talking bout locked threads heh.

2, 3, 4 people making the same arguments post after post after post afterpost, along with personal attacks, polls biased beyond belief (if you could not see the bias in the poll options provided, then you probably don't see it in these two options either: (1) are you a civilized individual supporting the current ratio of tram/fel facets or (2) are you a psychopath who wants more fell facets?).

I think the above pretty much covers the applied locks.

Is this about that flagrantly idiotic idea to start new/free players in Felucca, so that they could be rezkilled before figuring out how to open their paperdoll, teabagged, and then sign off to tell all their friends how much UO sucks? I harass Petra over the stifling moderation of this forum all the time, but that thread was blatantly ******** and a good call for a lock.

First off, Petra has been on, if she was going to lock this thread for my post alone, it would have happened already. Trolling will get you a warning or a ban Drago. My question in the title of the thread and the issues I brought up are legitimate, and should be addressed immediately.

Meatbread as far as the whole Felucca being free to play thing, you are looking at it from one very biased side only. You are not looking at the good that it would bring to the game - which... oh yeah, would bring players back.

2 or 3 people arguing for 25 posts over whether or not a suit can or cannot be made with or without faction items...the thread, imho...has degraded from relevent discussion to specific positions from which niether side will move...the thread is treading water and is going nowhere.

biased polls which are trolling polls themselves (had nothing to do with the amount of options per se, but how the options were presented...as an obvious troll (intentional or not))

threads which degrade from providing insight and discussion into personal attacks among the posters.


not trolling, just stating the reasons why threads are being locked (obviously from an outside perspective as i am not a stratics staff member).
From what I can see, I can not see bias in the thread locks.

oh, and as far as the IBTL, i believe discussions of moderator actions are not normally carried on in the public forums...normally if someone has issues with moderator actions, they are directed to PM Petra or possibly another Stratics staff member.

You are quite confused. 99% of the time the bias is on the side of the people posting. Not the mods.
1% of the people on these boards post objectively. The rest are mostly just disgruntled players(half of them admittedly dont even log into the game anymore)trying to politic the devs of an MMORPG. Its really quite sad that they dont understand that the vast majority of players have no clue this cesspool even exists and are happily playing and adapting with the game year after year.

You have an amazing idea that will change the course of the game and personally bring you and your nostalgic old buddies back to the game? Email it to the devs. It will get noticed.

Am I the only one sick to death of hearing some random PVPtard wander in here and propose some asinine "make everyone PVP" idea that would OBVIOUSLY destroy the game, then not being able to tell him he's an idiot? Because being stupid is apparently just fine, but telling someone their post is stupid would be trolling and that would just be the end of someone's precious little world.

Legitimate discussions are not a couple people flaming each other repeatedly over and over and over, nor is it where you read the same idea being repeated over and over (slowly degrading into attacks to those who disagree with ones idea). The faction threads got locked for that first reason, the only thing left in that was the OP and some guy saying the exact same things at each repeatedly.
As for the poll, to suggest that it was slightly biased is a huge understatement. On a different note, I notice that you didn't participate in any of those threads. That might explain your confusion over them being lock. If you had actually watched them progress you might have understood.

Unless of course you're just biased against the mods, lol.
