[Imbuing] What's the best way to get residue?

I know this question has probably been asked before, but I tried searching through the forums and wound up with jack. I'm also at work right now so I don't have a whole lot of tie to go searching through every word to find the answer right now. I have several GMed crafters and can make the DC daggers when I get over 50. However, I need to get the residue in order to make it to 50. Even it I do it by unraveling things, that fine with me. My question is simply this, "what is the best method to get magical residue with out having to go out and kill stuff in order to unravel their drops?" Is it through blacksmithing, tinkering, alchemy, inscription, or something else? Any answers are greatly appreciated and I thank any and all who reply in advance.

I do lots of differnet things to get stuff to unravel. I just tried making leather caps with a spined runic and that was good although I realized I had stoned off the arms lore so it might have been better had I arms lore at the time. I have made oak bows and oak bokutos and that seemed to work. Mostly I do various other things where I gain some gold too because I need to buy piles of gems.

Thanks for the info. I tested the bows and they worked quite well, I got 4 residue per bow with no lore and no exceptionals. Now I need to go harvest oak logs like there's no tomorrow.

I use dull copper ingots to make exceptional daggers.

6 dc ingots = 2 exceptional dc daggers = 5 residue (approx)

I find that I get about 83% of the dc ingot input out as residue after unravel.

One of the things I do is kill toxic sliths and loot them. They have horned leather and gargoyle armor and weapons which I unravel and gold. So I gain points in loyalty, get leather, residue, essence, gold and other stuff that is useful like slith tongue and poison sacs and I am gaining magery which will help me making imbuing reagents.

i farm the special ingredients at the various spawns....then i loot the monsters i kill....

i can hold about 90-120 items....throw them in a bag and unravel container....

so i have several of whatever special ingredient i was hunting...

200+ residue
60+ enchanted essence

per full pack

each run to fill my packs takes about 20 minutes and costs nothing

this has the added bonus of the occasional nice drop that you find....like the blank 3 frc/ 1fc rings you can find that will save you a lot of imbue money when you make a suit

i kill 2 birds with one stone
