Just curious as to which towns will be defended the most by you the player. Or will you be like me and have my bane-loyal character attack the raiders and rioters to make the town mayors pissed off at me.

I don't even know what bane-loyal means so I guess I'll be picking a town

Basically it's what I call a character that seeks distruction of all the towns, and thus will not aid in defending any town no matter what.

Edit: I left out Jhelom. If you will defend that town post a vote as a "write-in".

Being firmly apposed any tram city invitation, I’ll be boycotting.

Invading the old cities ruins what little life they have left.

If they want to invade anything, invade Lagtown.

So, if you want us to write in Lagtown... I will, but I sure wont be defending it. I’ll be selling the enemy ammo and touches. :D

For Frarc i will take Jhelom.

I might go for Moonglow with a Mage.

I opted for Moonglow *Chesapeake* Moonglow, that is.

I have had various smaller homes there, in Moonglow, off and on, over the yrs.

I can still remember building a small, Moonglow *res hut* for other players
yrs. ago, so I could help to res the dead of us all,
when, the solen ants invaded Moonglow.

I probably have more of my own chrs. blood shed there too, as well,
from this or that invasion, etc.

I chose Moonglow. Since I pretty much grew up there. Meeting my wife for the 1st time doing an X shard trade there is also a motivating factor. =)

Cove isn't part of the event
Indeed, but on both LS and GL the EMs appear to be finding ways to incorporate it. On LS I am told that Cove is occupied (no, that's not a reference to RL events I just can't think of another word) and on GL Cove has been effectively killed by the orcs. (Presumably, once we can rescue its population from captivity, assuming we are up to the task, it will bounce back in some form.)

It means siding with the demon lord Virtuebane and the Bane Chosen two event cycles ago: During the In the Shadow of Virtue storyline.

I believe it was the original poster who'd asked some time ago "what's the choice for my Bane loyal character," and I responded by saying, you made your choice, your guy (Virtuebane) lost. However, your Bane loyal character could always use the event as an excuse to be a psychotic killer and purposefully **** off all the cities.

And it sounds like that's what he's gonna do.

On Galen I will probably pick whichever city seems least taken care of. I had a more elaborate plan for him that recent happenings having nothing to do with this event arc appear to have scuttled.

John will either go for Yew or Minoc (there are good RP reasons for both).

Cinque Katsumoto and Haytham, neither of which are from Britannia natively, are gonna be trickier, but I'll figure something out.

I chose Skara Brae because that's where I bank and shop, plus I live just outside the city. It's been one of my favorite cities all of these years. :)

I'm staying loyal to the 'realm', not some random bit of it that seems not to actually stand FOR anything other than offering pretty toys for their own defenders....

None of the above. If I have any loyalty, it is to Brit on the whole. Picking sides in the civil war will only increase divisiveness.

If I was playing and had only those options I would have to be bane-loyal.

If I had ANY say in the matter, Luna is tops on my list for total and irreversible destruction.

Since points will probably Not be acct specific anyways, means which of my toons will go where?
Brit, Skara Brae, Trinsic - voted Skara

Chosen for density of available points and possible retreat paths
...subject to change, at go-live

As it does not look to be as Sevin0oo0 said, account based rather it is individual character based and this would make more sense.

My main character will defend New Mag's, her/his pet shop is there, and she/he will defend it with claws and fire breathe. My main crafter will probably do Skara, he uses that place the most, others I will probably divide among the other cities.

I was leaning toward Moonglow since I've always liked that island, used to live there, and still tend to bank there most of the time. However, considering how much turmoil and disruption it has endured in the past, I think New Magincia deserves some help. I haven't decided yet, but that's probably where my participating characters will declare their loyalty.

So during the bane invasion, I stopped fighting for the demon and "regained" my goodness. Buuuuut, it seems that I have been backsliding (I must consider my sins... oopsy!) and, well, my loyalty (according to my points) is still for the Bane. As long as I am still blue, I will probably just be a menace rather than anything productive.

BTW, I bank at Cove, and use Britain when I need to go to the City. I prefer the small town feel for everyday and, well, Britain is the original and I like to maintain my business there. Cove, however, on Chessy, is still sporting the corrupted bell, (I must personally take some credit for killing many many ophis for that) and thus must still be under Bane's influence. Even though he lost... wait, did I miss something?

If there will be differences, especially if significative between the various Towns, then I think that yes, before committing we definately should know more of the consequences that our choices will bring on us........

I posted the question in another thread but on a second thought, this one looks a more appropriate thread for the question.

Is the Town loyalty tied to one individual character or does the whole account get tied to a chosen Town, as far as loyalty goes ?

Bottom line is, can different characters pick different Towns for their loyalty within the same one account ?

Also, does defending a town affect in any ways Bane or Ophidians' previous loyalty ?

In such a case, if a player wants to preserve either the Bane or the Ophidians' loyalty previously accumulated, how should they behave in regards to this new invasion ?

Thanks a lot.

Britain...

...guild is keeping it in stead for the True Lord Blackthorn's return.

Update: Actually, town loyalty on Origin is progressing downward on the notoriety chart. Loyalty was Unknown, then Commended, then Repected...the titles are derived from the lv2 fame tiers even though character is lv5 fame. No idea where this is going.

I know these questions cannot be answered yet, even on TC, just thinkin'...
Looks like loyalty will seesaw, Rewards, different cities, different rewards, collect them all? Will we be able to?
After all, Event is lasting 6mths - Grimm's calendar is full for the next 6mths, coincidence?
Maybe the rioters don't actually get help from, but rather mob(s) decide it'd be a good advantage to make strikes on the cities?
What effects will our loyalty have on everyday dealings w/ npc's ie buying/selling resources, bank, or will detested get us treated as if we had extreme negative karma?
So, what's Really coming? and how does our home city play a part?

Hmm. what I haven't seen yet I realized is whether tram or fel is another choice we have to make. Like if I pick Moonglow can I do stuff in either fel or tram? Or do I have to pick one or the other?

I wonder how many people have reviewed or will review the information on the following page (and the town pages linked to it) or similar written histories before making their decision?

UO Stratics *New* | Historical Background of the Shattered Worlds
OOOOh. good idea. I took a quick look and noticed that the different towns each have a heraldic symbol. I'd love to see all the images of these heraldries. Might be as good a way to pick a town as any, maybe city banners will become available and you can only get one for the city you are loyal to. For some reason my chars all started in Moonglow and I'm feeling rather partial to that city but I'll probably only choose it on one char and choose other cities for the others according to their roles.

For the same reason Serpent's Hold isn't a 'city' to defend.
I thought Serpent's Hold wasn't a city to defend because it wasn't actually a city, it was more like an outpost or a compound. I always figured Vesper as a city.

You are correct Serpents Hold is not a city but a military base. It is where the royal guards train in the lore. Vesper is the only non-virtue city in the original lands.

Not quite sure what you mean 'original lands' - Cove and Vesper are both small towns going back to the PC games.

Cove is the city of love. Its a principle that makes up the virtues. Vesper is the only non virtue city. In UO lore Paws was also a non virtue city in the single player games. Serpents Hold on the other hand is not a city.
