What to do with this skills? ( 5 chars, old 2004 templates )

started ultima online again before 5 days, now i bought 2 soulstones and i want to get something usefull out of my character actualy.
im actualy out of the game, played the last time 2003/2004, and i dont know the new skills ( bushido,ninjitsu,spellweaving,mysticsm and so on) )
primary i want to pve, champing in groups and soloing.

Want to start with my mage Rhuad , and maybe also with my old dexxer Rael.

what would you recommend to get the best out of rhuad as a full mage and rael as a dexxer ( maybe the new sampire? )

I'd focus on Rael and work up some swap around some necro skills on him.

Go something like:
120 Weapon
120 Tactics
120 Bushido
120 Resist Spell/Anatomy
99 Necro
60 Parry
Rest in Chiv.

If you're not 720 skill no biggie but that template is a workhorse.

What shard? If you're on GL I can probably get you a basic suit to work with or imbue you up some training stuff.

If you want to make use of the Necro already on your mage I like a Nox/Necro for general group spawning and pvp. The template I run is:

Magery 120
Eval 120
Necro 120
Spirit Speak 120
Resist 120
Poison 100

Wraith form compensates for the lack of med in the template during spawns, and I never have an issue with mana during field fighting in pvp.

65 chiv is fast raised from zero, so the 100 chive is going to a mule character ^^.

ya the sampire is great for multiple monsters attacking you. You want to get a weapon that does the special move Whirlwind.
Skilling bushido isnt too bad, use New Haven to get to 50 fast then you can train with Lightning Strike.

99 necro is the minimum needed to cast the Vampiric embrace so some just leave the skill at 99, since that 1.0 in skill wont make a huge difference in successful casting. if your stuck with the 705 skill cap for a while then 99 necro is fine.

Necro training is pretty easy since most the spells wont need a target. Check out UOguide and the stratics forums/info pages for the most efficient ways of training skills.

99 necro is the min to cast vamp form. Most sampires carry around a few extra pieces to bump it up to 110/115 when they need to cast it. When you build the suit you can compesate for the 705 cap by adding 15 chiv to a ring or braclet.

Bushido its pretty easy to train but can be slow above 110. Necro is easy and fast.

so this template is fine you think? i just need 80 chiv instead of 65, then ill drop parry for a while and get some + parry jewelry later

You can still kill anytyhign solo in game with the old template

Leggings of Bane and then +13/15 on each ring and watch and ur ar cap for HCI, put the mace and shield glasses on for the 30 hit lower defense and you'll never miss.

Lightning strike FTW too, +50 HCI.

I remember at one point I went almost 6 months playing nothing but my blacksmith...and had a lot of fun doing so.

Wraith helps keep ur mana up, does not have the -40 fire resist, and only requires 40 necro to never fail casting curse weapon. Only real drawback is no horse. Curse wep = 50% life leech vamp form = 20% life leech.

The sampire also likes to make use of an armored swamp dragon for extra damage mitigation which means you need to be mounted. So yeah, it's two different playstyles.

I really only use chiv for enemy of one (which is not impacted by karma loss) and the once in a while the occasional close wounds and poison cure. I personally would rather have 30% more life leech then 20% damage mitigation that may end in the middle of a fight if the barding breaks. I would love to be able to be mounted in general, but when I tried vampire form I just could not leech enough life.

For my Mage ill actualy going something like that:

105 Meditation ( next bonus on 110 right? )

I'd personally take a hit on ur parry in favor of max anat. I also use imbued rings/bracelets to boost my skils above my skill cap.

So anatomy is realy only for the extra damage? It not affects the necro or bushidi healing or anything else? Then maybe switch to 100 parry and only 60 anazomy?
