What should I be taming at 62? I have 100 Lore. I've been taming harts, but I succeed 1 in 50 times.

with 62 taming, your success chance to tame great harts is 6%! You'd better try with black bear, polar bear, walrus & llamas! For those, your success chance will be 54% ... ==> http://uo.stratics.com/content/skills/anim.php

I also suggest you get yourself a so called 'crystal ball of knowledge'. This device helps with all skill trainings and you can get it as a quest reward from a quest giver in Ter Mur. Quest giver NPC is called Ortlem the mystic in front of the mystic/mage shop in Ter Mur.

It sounds like your taming creatures according to an old training guide, you need to tame easier creatures nowadays.

Take a look at this guide as it should help you get better gains.

At 65 you should moving from polar bears to brown bears. I'd try brown bears beside Moonglow zoo, there's a nice concentration of them there.

Is that without jewels? Get a +30 taming set, go to Jhelom Farms, and tame bulls. Don't know the success chance, but you'll get them more often than not.

At 66 i did white wolves on ice island, they were great so many of them there too. they take 65.1 to tame. Maybe use jewelry to boost up to that level and then take off when you get your true skill there

65.1 is the minimum skill to tame White Wolves. You fail like hell to tame them at 65.1. I should know, i GMed my Taming off of White Wolves right before T2A came out.
Optimally, you want about a 50% success chance when taming for skill gains.

Makes sense why it took me so long lol :) It honestly took me like 5 years to take Taming lore and vet from 30-120. Had to start at 30 as i made the character as a bard first. I didnt hit it out hard, just trained as i went usually. I didnt train properly and get from 106-120 until those blackrock pillars in lost lands that gave you bonus gains hehe.

Well they did change the formula at one time, you used to gain on tougher creatures. Now I keep thinking "but those are too easy for me!" and they're not heh.

When my first tamer was nearly at GM tamers were finishing off on hell hounds in Fire dungeon. Power hours spent being gently BBQ'd on the rocks. Health and safety has really changed taming these days hehe.
