What NEEDS to be a turnin for spring cleanup beyond a shadow of a doubt?
Blue crystallized essence (since the Magincia rebuild use which was promised, never occurred).
Decorative plants, including bonsai, spider trees, and hops in all colors.

I'd really rather not see plants become a turn-in item. It makes it pointless to try to run a plant shop when you're not sure if the people buying the stuff that it took you weeks/months to cross-pollinate to or to collect seeds for and then raise are just being purchased for speculative purposes or to actually decorate their home.
I'd suggest that if you're holding onto plants you don't want, find a local crafter that will buy them from you at a reasonable price to turn into reeds for baskets or clippings for dye or who might actually be able to sell them to a recently returned player who wants them to decorate their house.
Just my two cents. But if I see plants on the turn-in list, I'm immediately shutting down my plant vendor and it'll stay closed until the turn-in is disabled. Yeah, I know it's a pretty meaningless threat, especially because so few people play on Siege, but that's going to be my way of protesting!! I'm not about to see an in-game profession I spend two or three hours on each day trying to make the game a little more beautiful, a little more interesting just go into the discard bin so someone else can get a new piece of pixel crack.

Chill out Tina Small, I seriously doubt plants will be on the list and if so... players are not so dumb as to toss in special plants you took alot of time growing especialy on Siege.

The rubble I can see, the crystals and the artifacts sound about right(although they are still obtainable but not wanted) if thats what the devs are thinking. We have things like ophidian rations, snake skins and other unnecessary things in the game that's clogging the ole drain IMO hehe

Blackrock no. There is way too much blackrock in the game because it doesn't decay. The only way to get rid of blackrock is to throw it in a trash barrel.
I've been hoarding. I also have loads and loads of blackrock but I don't think it's wise to have it on the list for any real point value. I don't think many people have any idea just how much blackrock is in the game.
Maybe at 1 point per blackrock is okay! Blackrock has been scripted into oblivion and it's actually a hindrance to scripters. They have so much of it they don't know what to do with it so if Blackrock was to become a turn in item many many players who have a field day and cash in. I think for 1 point it would be okay it would negate and be worth it but I doubt the incentive would be there for players to turn it in at such a low return but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Personally I think the "Clean Up Brittania" should be a 24/7/365 similiar to the Vesper Museum, Moonglow Zoo, Britain Library. That way in 3 years from now players, like myself, won't be crying foul and asking the DEVs to turn on the spring clean up and take up more of their time and resources. How about two sets of Spring Cleaning, one with more "common" items, and one with "rarer" items. The idea is to get things out of the system, so I'd say have blackrock in at a decent value so people trash it.. but on the other hand, people would continue to hard the more valuable stuff then... so two sets of rewards... one for cheap items, one for expensive items. Good idea! I agree with getting items out of the game and providing enough incentive for people to clean up their stuff.
Finding the right balance for items such as blackrock goes along way to making all the rewards worthwhile.
Last time around they did that Quest event and people created trial accounts and farmed Spring Clean Up Points in Perpetuity. Yes I know trial accounts have been fixed but it kinda tarnished the rewards overall im my opinion.
Blackrock in my opinion has the potential to do the very same thing.
I don't think many players have an idea of how much of that stuff is lying around on the ground in some people's homes.
I guess in the end it really doesn't affect me if some guy turn a boatload of blackrock and gets a billion spring clean up points.
It really doesn't effect me so I shouldn't worry about it but there is something about being able to turn in a 'resource' I don't like.
Should we be able to turn in boards and ingots too? Nightshade?
Blackrock falls into the resource category in my book.
Red ones as well - these too now have no use. Could put the yellow on too but doubt if many of those would get turned in unless they had very high points.

unfortunatly, that was recently honored. it brings a magencia planting in one of those soil spots a full day of growth ahead. that is all that happened with them.

The original clean up Britannia had turnips on the list. Easily obtained isn't that big a deal unless the point value for said item is too high. I think turnips were 2 points each at the time.

I just hope the DEVS have got the balls to add the highly known duped items/art work such as the 2 story talking statues, scaffold, etc.....hell call it a replica if u really must ....but please have the balls again to replicate the highly duped item/art work of the past.

I'd love to get something cool from Spring Cleaning, but unfortunately, I throw out useless stuff (or sell cheaply so it goes away fast). Chucked all my chocolates into trash long ago. Dropped little blackrock pieces as soon as they fell into my bag (kept a few insured pieces on spawners of course). Sold off all the old Christmas/Valentines/Thanksgiving/Easter/Halloween junk I had when the holiday rolled around the following year.
So, I'm not complaining, I get the bonus of always having plenty of space in my house, and of course I got a little coin from selling off the extraneous junk. But if there are some cool prizes in the clean-up event, I hope there's some way for non-hoarding-packrats like myself to earn them. So, congrats to anyone who's got 200 Jack-o-Lanterns or Ankh Pendants lying around. Should be fun, which is the most important thing.

Remind me, how did non-hoarders participate? I remember i basically used it what it was for, throwing out junk around my house, but i also dont just keep a bunch of useless stuff around.

After I got rid I mean turned in all of my UO hubbys stuff to make more room for my stuff. I went, and killed creatures to get things that I knew were on the turn in list. Low ended paragons, ophidillians, things like that.
Basicly just wait to see whats on the turn in list, and take it from there.
I wish it was only deco items, but that is being selfish, when others like to collect weapons, and armor sets.

Everything in the game should count except food/resources (ingots,leather etc) because I don't know about ya'll but I have stuff that REALLY needs to go but I haven't had the heart to toss it (hoarding...burried alive lol) WAY back in the old days when I got my singing ball, it seems that I was able to toss tons of different things to get that and it was still really hard to get. Just don't make the point system so ridiculous that you HAVE to throw out that favorite set of armor to get a decent gift. SO, anything except food/resources IMO

The VirtueBane Crystals & Sashes would be nice. Also: Magincian Threads (I do not have enough to turn-in to get the cloaks) & Cloaks of Corruption- I have more of these than I know what to do with.

Your right I need an event to turn in my 5000 pieces of valentines chocolate I have been hoarding for fear it would become rare or have a special purpose.
