What makes uo great and a thankyou

You may or may not know that 7 months ago i underwent some hefty brain surgery (and i was already blonde!)
today i had my first day at work. i am now registered disabled and i have a long way to go. but sometimes i am really humbled. today is one of those times.
i have long been a fan of lady flame of the deep rock relics as often she has gelled lots of people together to fight various invasions. she called me via a friend to meet her in luna.
thinking it was to help her and others fighti went 'tooled up' but no.
she realised that i wasnt around for the magincia invasion and her and some friends had collected some items for me from the invasion. stuff like vorpal blade, pyros and zerks scythe. stuff they could have handed in. i feel very humbled.
that kinda sums it up. this is why uo is sooo much better than other games, our community. we may not always agree but selfless stuff like this is fantastic. so to flame, tane darkblane, mord mhor, angel mhor and luna mhor, thankyou so very much xxxxx

That was very sweet of them and I totally agree. Yes there are some a@@es in the game, but there are also some very very sweet people who enjoy being nice and helping others. That is what keeps me playing! If you don't mind me asking, which shard are you guys on? It seems like you are a nice group and I am always trying to find nice people to hunt with, talk housing and decor with, and just hang out with. A lot of my good friends have quit

It's indeed one of the things that makes UO a lot better than other games. Since we are a relatively small bunch, there's a lot more communication between players. And UO is less of a solo game than e.g. WoW (auction houses, yeah real personal...).

Anyway, good to see you back & I still like your wonderful museum (antique plate.. ).

Totally agree -- and note that most of the *best* people in this game don't post here. The flaming and complaining scares them away. They just want to putter around and have fun!

That's why sometimes the forums are the last place one should form an opinion regarding a game's playerbase.
