and here I was, thinking that vampires might actually have offered the bats a rez.



What makes Siege unique for me?

The insanity.

People come, of their own accord, to a shard which has no insurance.
They then become fiercely attached to their pixel items and clothes, and spend every moment hunting for just one more blessed item.

That's insanity.


People spend hours and hours of their own time helping others get to know how to play the game, knowing full well that one day they could well be on the receiving end of attacks from at least 50% of the people they help.
We even have a guild set up to help with this!

That's insanity.


People are prepared to spend hours and hours performing the same action over and over, to become good at fighting, and then are too scared to venture out of the guard zone.

That's insanity.


People you didn't realise you'd had an impact on will send PMs, post publicly, send ICQs, and even track down your snail-mail address to express their concerns when they hear your health is failing.

That's not insanity, but it's certainly unexpected. But, it happens, and it happens often.


It's also absolutely fantastic.

UO's 'just a game'.

The people behind the pixels are extremely real, though, and they're what makes me very glad...

Siege is unique. I've never found a production shard with such a strong sense of community, for starters. Occasionally, there will be a really tight-knit guild or two, but for community, Siege wins, hands down.

The ruleset's also great. Moan about PvP all you like - sure, it's unbalanced, sure, the lowest common denominator will always head for the template or items that give the easy win - so what? I still enjoy it.

But, most of the time, you can walk into a gathering on Siege, as a complete stranger, and by the end of the evening, feel like you're practically part of the family. (alternately, you can walk into a group of PKs and end up as one of their slaves, but that's fun too!)

I've tried most of the other shards that I have a reasonable ping to, and I've tried Mugen, Siege's 'sister' shard - and there's nothing like this place.

Now, if they'd just board up Luna for a weekend or two, it'd be perfect!

Me i love SP because it has less rules that make it a better PvP shard. I dont think i have ever fought a monster yet and ive been playing for 2 years lol.... the only time i hit a monster is champs and if i running after some one and they run in the pixies lol.... In SP every one knows every one ( even if u hate the other players ) u still know some thing about them that makes them unique. But i will say SP is like a BIG ... DAYS OF OUR LIFES.... or ...ALL MY CHILDREN... with all the deaths and new guild allying other guilds lol.

I wish more people would come to play SP but prodution players are to soft to mess with the SP Player lol

what players are better at PVP.... SP PvPers or production shard PvPers

hehe one of the options was "Kelmo you're an idiot..." something else after that but pretty sure that's what most of us picked



course we got nothing but love for Kelmo.... granted he barely notices us when Little Bo Peep comes around *sighs and runs* hehehehe
