Mostly dark wave, industrial, new wave, and symphonic metal. Dead Can Dance, Sisters of Mercy, The Crüxshadows, Einstürzende Neubauten, Fields of the Nephilim, Nightwish, etc...

What type of music does he do?

The best way to describe his music is symphonic. He makes use of a variety of instruments, often playing many of them himself. He writes music in various time signatures. He is considered part of the folk revival in indie pop, but his influences are very broad. His music has been likened to electronica and aesthetically compared to the minimalism of Steve Reich.

I highly recommend! His music sounds foreign to the ear when you first listen. Then you realize you have found GOLD as you continue.
