What Happened to Hail Storm?

I used to do a fair amount of damage with the Mysticism spell Hail Storm -- basically, it used to be the Cold equivalent of Meteor Swarm (Fire) or Chain Lightning (Electricity). All of a sudden, best I get out of it is mid to high teens in damage even on stuff usually susceptible to cold.

now has a moderate damage (since when they remove the eval bonus from mysticism). But if you have focus or imbuing 120 the damage still very good

dont know but i've been noticing alot problems with myst spells. have frequently got 0 damage hail storm, assumed it was something with the bane resists. nether cyclone is another one that is frequently doing 0 damage. havent been using on anything else recently(except shadow ele's), so don't know if anythings changed.

have noticed at 120/120 i'm having a prob curing poison(might just be a bad luck streak though). also the shadow ele's are not taking damage from mystic AoE's or spell plague.

Are you sure you're doing 0 damage spells or is it just a display bug where the damage doesn't show above the target?

If hail storm is truly doing 0 damage then nether cyclone would do 0 damage when it rolls "cold," since nether cyclone is chaos damage.

Bane Dragon poison is pretty nasty, hehe takes even a few chiv cures at times.

usually these spells damage is shown in the top-right corner of the game, I hardly belive nether cyclone rolls only cold
but I found a new thing: nether cyclone and the other chaos spell can't do physical damage, only elemental.

nether cyclone is chaos damage.. if you manage to "roll" the targets highest resists, you get low damage with the spell. I often have the display bug pop up, but you can still see damage loss from it's lifebar when the spell hits.

The poison might be nasty but it will probably be nothing that Gcure potion can't take care of in 1/4 of a second.... *sarcasm*

Hehe true well, when wild, they can innately poison w/ melee and then they have breath w/ poison. Now, I haven't tested myself after tame, I'll have to go do that. But the one thing that's for sure is they have -- in poison when you tame them so I don't think you can gain poisoning skill.

My tamer rocks like maybe 117 chiv, he's an oddball, I know. But max karma w/ that, still takes me a few chiv cures when wild ;P. I should bring gcures heehe.

Yeah, guess I missed out on the whole "Focus" thing back at Pub 64...

Why in the world...?

That would explain it though because I recently swapped Focus for Spellweaving. Guess it's time to go back to Focus.

nope not the display bug, definitely doing 0 damage to targeted MOB, was thinking it was either lag related, mob related(100% resist), or it was getting offset and hitting a different area rather than the one targeted(have this problem frequently with doors and such, though loggin in/out usually solves this).

often thought that was a mistake on guide, have been using magic to kill them for years








Edit: ok now that i thought about it, was using earthquake and painspike back then.so went and checked and they are immune to other spells(flame strike and such), just started back doing them for the blackrock so must have forgotten about this

but some of the mystic spells do damage them, and as i recall earthquake and painstirke always have, so they don't have total immunity to spells
