What goes good in a 'training' house?

So far this is what I've got:

1. 200 runebook library (tram and fel)
2. crystal portal
3. teleporter hubs (looong way to go on that one)
4. lockpicking training (still need to know what exactly to do for that)

there has got to be more! little help?

Bandages
A small barracks for sleeping with wooden chests at the end of the bed or nearby
An old school spa made up of cloth, gozas and benches
A small kitchen with food

It really all depends on the space and how far you wish to go with the theme.

Soul forge; forge and anvil; loom, 2 or 3 spinning wheels (so you can start spinning on a new wheel while the first one finishes); stove or fireplace and a nearby water trough; some fountains of life; different types of dye tubs and a stack of publicly accessible dyes; and commodity deed boxes near the forges and other crafting areas (i.e., not upstairs or downstairs from them or behind a door). If you don't want the water trough to be extremely visible, hide it behind a wall and tell people who might use it to keep their circle of transparency turned on.

What about training???

A god sparring area is also a nice addation. If you have a 18 / 18 then a 16 / 16 sparring area is nice and on the roof with the traiing dummies and stuff dont forget an archery bute.

Ty for all the ideas I am also contemplating changing the look of the center of my castle and a 3 tier training area sound like just what it needs.

Is having penned animals illegal? Or is it only when using them for training? Does tamed or wild make any difference?

For the training place I would also add a bulletin board so people can meet up and crosstrain, etc.

Fink... I'm sure I read somewhere recently, about a player getting a temporary ban for having "wild" animals left inside their house. The farcical thing about that was, that other players could dump animals in another's house, yet the house owner would get the trouble from the GM's.

Let's face it, who hasn't dumped a few... well... more than a few... animals in a friends house for a laugh. I know I have But it's silly to think they could get into trouble because of something so trivial.

If the GM's have nothing better to do, than ban a player for creating animal pens, with *gasps* actual animals in them... rather than concentrate on genuine issues and player problems, then there needs to be some serious priotitising done somewhere in the EA/Mythic offices.

If it's nothing more than knee-jerk reactions to reports from players with nothing better to do... then they're really not the sort of people I want to be paying to spend my leisure time with, because they're the sort of people that are strangling the life out of UO
