I have seen it applied to tamers , is it a phonetic or something?

These are people, usually blue, who play on the notoriety system by only attacking greys and blues. In PvP, if you are working with a team, it's usually necessary to kill anyone on the opposite side, regardless of red/blue/grey status. Noto's don't.

Noto's also frequently enter combat zones on blues for the express purpose of giving counts when they get killed. This is not a problem for the serious pvp'ers, since they are always red, but some of us casual pvp'ers get "accidentally" turned red this way some times, which is a temporary inconvenience.

Croaker made a typo, it shouldn't read greys and blues but greys and reds so the person doing the killing doesn't go red, in times when there was more honor on Siege, notos were considered a class between reds and thieves or scammers. Notos can be thought of as false blues they just wait or try to make an opportunity for someone to go grey.

Unless of course notos have come to mean something different in these days

thieves?
THIEVES?!

You are comparing thieves with something other than an admirable class?

Interesting you see me as a noto, I am in factions. Actually the 2 accounts I play on are both in factions, 1 is red and the other is blue. What about you? All your characters in factions? How bout your guild too, im in KOC all faction guild no bluebie alliance, how bout you??
You are just mad becuase i kill you so easy. The only hope you and those other bums (jsv) have against me is to get me dismounted than sick about 5 pets on me. Hell when I fight you, I turn off my monitor to make it a challenge.

Slow down there skippy, that hasn't always been the case. You have rarely ever been in factions. What you've done in the last week or so isn't in question, its the past 2+ years that you have been nothing more than a common noto.

This term isn't relevant to me on Siege, but on Europa I had it done to me a lot at Magincia. A blue would attack my EV's that were set on the daemons, making me grey to him, he could then pk me without having to take a count.

I've had it happen at champ spawns too. One minute you're working with them on the spawn and the next they've turned on you. It's the deceitfulness of it that gets to me, I'd rather have an honest red pk with clear, hostile intentions.

Lets see here miss kat, or is is mrs. I can never keep up on that sorta stuff. The last year or so i ran with about 4 people. That was when everyone was on. Waka has been dead for along time. You ladies dont come outta your house unless you have supreme numbers on. I remember runnin with Butters one night and your faboulus guild called me a guard huggin noob. Than i proceed to kill about 6 or 7 of your guildies in a row in some umbra arena. You cant do anything without the numbers you remember that. If you wish to 1 on1. Just post it on these here boards so we can get some wagers going.
If i have 1 blue and 1 red, why would i want to go red on my blue? I dont have a tamer, I refuse to play one. So what should i do with my blue, oh kill people. that is what i love to do.

LMAO !! That's like the funniest thing you've ever said! Anytime there was a YAMA in Stonehaven, I was on the field, save for a few Fight Night events they tried to disrupt. Sorry you're still so buttsore over not being allowed inside. We have standards, ya know?!

In any case, any talk about YAMA is pointless considering they pretty much ran themselves into the ground and no longer exist.

Perhaps Fudd will toss you a sour grapes cupcake!

Hugi - You keep on yappin'. No matter what kind of rubbish you spew, you'll never be anything more than a smalk talkin' noto. You have never single handedly taken out 7 or 8 TnA by yourself. Your dreams aren't where it counts. Lets also keep in mind that you joined a rather large guild and have never been able to fight without numbers behind you either. WAKA, KoC, both zergs. Nice to meet ya Mr Pot!

Eh?

Back in the day, I could've swore that notos were the people that went grey to get blues to attack them so they wouldn't have to go red (that was me - I admit!
).

This was a way of life back when stat loss was in effect. No one wanted to see the blood red message whenever you said "I must consider my sins.", or, recently afterwards, seeing your short-term murder count being at 5+. That meant 8 hours until you were out of stat loss (of course, if you died, you could just macro it off as a ghost!) :p :p

That too.

Noto = using game mechanics to allow them to pk people without accepting the usual consequences.

going grey to blues as you said, or tricking blues into going grey to them, as happened to me, same result. PKing without penalty.

Very good point! Thieves are far better than the notos.

Ya, and I'm sure you are heartbroken that you can't use guard zones now that Hugi is finally in factions. Bo may have been factions before, but I don't ever remember seeing Hugi in there.

How much "soloing" do you do now on hugi?

Is it true that you know how to say "Guards" in over fifty different languages?

Don't take it out on me just because you can no longer return to a battle naked to hand out murder counts. I don't give a [censored] how good you are, a noto is still a noto.

Now go let Puffy try out your pike.

WAKA was a zerg?!? Damn... I always miss out on the good stuff!
Well kittie kat, I cant say I remember you ever coming out and fighting but it must have happened cause you say so. I do remember you fighting inside umbra a few times with your non faction tamer trying to "noto" a few of our reds. Now I do believe there is the unanswered question of Hugi's wager. Do you have someone willing to step up to that challenge?

Oh and Mr T, how many languages can you say "all kill" in? Its called PvP not PvM.

Why back in my day WAKA had just arrived on the shard. There was, at the time, a Dark Father wandering the beaches of Siege. We all thought it was because he was tired of all the subterranean darkness and decided it was time to get a tan.

Most of were wandering around shoeless, because of the Bare-Footed Idiots (BFI), or with an onion on our belt, which was the fashion at the time.

Anyway . . . . WAKA was just arriving on the shard. So they did one of the coolest things I've ever seen. They took a horde, and I mean a real horde not one of these little mini-ganks you see these days, err, right . .. . a horde, a horde of newly created characters and charged the Dark Father.

I don't recall quite how long it went on, but by the end of it the beach was littered with the corpses of a whole host of WAKA folks. If you go searching you might still be able to find a few screen caps of the carnage.

Slay-me hilarious.

But nowadays no one would do that....

Get off my lawn ya damn kids!

You must have suffered some brain damage at some point in time, because my tamer has been in factions far longer than you have been in waka. And just FYI, Kat is only one of 4 character's that I play and also the one I play the least. Perhaps that might explain your memory loss.

As for Hugi's wager's, I tend not to take seriously, anyone who spews as much hot air as he does. Perhaps he might like to duel my faction tamer, though? We have a very nice arena in Stonehaven.

tsk, tsk, Kat. As one who regularly points out the RoC...for shame.
