Ok… so, yeah… I’m becoming very disappointed in this total avoidance for the staff to make with the SPRING CLEANING 2011… and it's feeling like we are not talking summer anymore, based on this tiny note published on uo.com. We are looking at Fall… or worse.

I know everyone seems to disagree and some love to disagree just for the sake of disagreeing… but I really want to know what most interest our chatty population about the upcoming updates.

But as I also hope with these polls… happy discussion and not attacks and all that business. The Gods of Chaos and Candy forbid! hehe

You forgot the graphic upgrades for enhanced client. I don't play enhanced very often but I do run it at times and enjoy seeing uo with a different look. Makes it look new to me in away for a game I enjoy playing and exploring. So with the new enhanced upgrades, be alot more fun exploring the lands.

I wish to take part in option 2,3 & 4 in this poll. Especially the new sea adventure.

I'm not interested in any new content until this team can prove they can squash bugs like the one affecting ships. Why bother with new high seas content if the damn ships are going to continue to be lost?

I didn't vote - I won't do the first 3, and can care less about new pixel crack.
DEV SPRING CLEANING 2011. Wonder if they keep their IRL houses the same way - they probably don't clean up there either. A pig sty and broken crap everywhere - Have a little pride in UO, instead of just giving lip-service

I guess Im only 1 of two here who are looking forward to the next phase of the current tel mur event. It was a close tie with spring cleaning but I just cant help but remember ruble and crazy lootz from past events and they always make we tingly!

No... I didn't forget. ;)

Graphic upgrades are not content.
Well then you forgot to state outright that you only meant in game, playable content. Your title is:

What’s upcoming is more important to you for July+?

Mine is 'graphical updates' (and by god it better not be just another empty promise). So you obviously forgot something. :p

Yeah… sadly so… no matter what the poll offers in options, there always has to be some contingency that has to fight and claw for options not on the table. It's like going into an all seafood restaurant and demanding they fix you your favorite Italian dinner despite the fact it's not on the menu. I guess I should have included the option “I LOVE ICECREAM!”, as clearly that doesn’t belong either. lol rolleyes:

I think that was already covered.

It is amazing that (at this very second I’m posting) 29 out of 44 voters (65.91%) are voting for the “Clean up” as this is the one and only thing EVERYONE can participate in. As one of UO’s many lone players… on very rare occasions I partner up and go hunting for NPC ships. The issues the staff has been letting ride with ships being bugged has greatly hindered that. Fixing bugs should be a full time concern, but any content they add for the High Seas will most certainly be for larger groups and little interest for lone players that have no interest in fishing quests. Frankly, I wish they would keep in mind the lone players. Everything new seems to involve demands of extreme skill and big powerful groups. At least with spring cleaning, I remember well, how much everyone loved it and even new players could take part. That doesn’t take away from the fact the more you knew… the more points you could collect.

this

Just wondering, when was the last cleanup? im thinking maybe 3 years ago? just wondering why people think a cleanup would happen this year. the devs talk about tons of things that never happen, was there anything talked about by the devs more than "were starting to possibly consider the idea of a cleanup this year" ?

Im excited about the skill changes, and Reeeally hope the devs put ALL their time into making sure it works. Tuning the skills in a "skill based game" should obviously hold the most importance.

If there is to be a cleanup, please No oped items. deco is fine, but theres been more items that have been added in the last few years than the previous decade. If there are skill / combat / template related items, it would be nice if they would be something to complement the proposed skill changes.

It would also be really nice to bring in the skill / pvp changes with a crackdown on cheating.

I would still pick graphics even if it's not "on the table" because I care more about attracting new players at this point, even if EA is now claiming that UO is widely profitable.

The options not presented in this particular poll are directly left out from the producers letter, so no it is not like people just decided to argue with you, they decided that you left out the most important part of the July+ update to them.

Also the poll is skewed. 1) most Stratics posters (and hence voters) don't care about PvP. 2) most people who play the game do not participate in Stratics Forums. 3) not all options are available (just from the producers letter alone). If 50% of the people on Stratics really only care about pixel crack, then no matter what the number of posters for "spring cleaning" would be highest regardless of anything else.

I know you really want a spring cleaning, cause you know just tossing out trash is blasphemes, but to say they are totally avoiding it, and that it was a tiny mention (850 items.....that's a lot of items to be considered as trash don't you think?) is just silly. I feel almost all of the other mentions in the producers letter are more important than a clean up, not because I do not care about it but because they actually drive REAL "content" and not just please hoarders who will no doubt after this event hoard every item a monster drops hoping it will be on the next "clean up" event list.

Order of importance, Bug Fixes, Client Crash fixes (although technically belongs in the first category hence it becomes number 2), Graphical Update, High Seas (more content is better than no content), PvP changes (just cause it is my preffered method of spending my time on game), Then vet/Anni rewards/Clean up Brit and Live story arc (the arc would have more emphasis but I did not have much time to play the current one, did not finish it, and of course it leads to a dead end when we are discussing "content").

Heh ... PVP changes, new content, ongoing storylines ... and guess what. Over 60% of people are more interested in trading in their crap for more crap. Is this what UO has become...?

Bug fixes, code "holes" patched ... no new stuff until the nastiness is gone.

Then they can add new stuff and break everything all over again! Sorta like history ... repeats itself over and over.
