weird thing

I used a pigment on a sweet black staff i crafted tonight ( SC no neg, -20 , 58 di, 100% cold )
, and noticed that the wood essence property was gone. Anyone else had this happen?

you mean the wood type was removed after dying it ?

yup, and it made me think about a while back i heard that those essence ¨tags¨would use up an imbuing slot. Dunno if it was true or if it still was like that but that might be a good thing for imbuers if it can be removed

its not the wood type tag that uses up properties. its the extra properties the wood type adds.

this has been around for awhile. many times if you dye a wood item you will lose the wood type tag.

i have a few ash bows that dont say ash.

Not new, happens on anything with a wood type tag when you dye it. (Furniture dye tub does the same thing to furniture made from other wood types). It's just a tag though, it has no bearing on the weapons imbue weight.

When you dye a wooden weap it does take away the tag that says "Bloodwood" or "Yew" everytime i make a mage weap bokuto or black staff and enhance it with whatever, i dye it, and it removes. Not sure why or anything, but i prefer it that way i guess lol.

Yeah i checked some bows i made and then dyed and same thing. Im noticing a bunch of new stuff these days that are not so new. I must be bored.
