Weird happening. Statt'd While Fighting Balrons

So today, I was fighting Balrons to raise my fame and honor levels. Was doing fine until I stopped paying attention lol and started watching the news. Well, I was killed and the weird thing is, the Balron statt'd me.

Yes, I'm in factions and I was killed by a non faction creature. I was however using Enemy of one. So the monster was orange to me. Now I've been in factions for a LONG time now and this has never happened.

Has this happened to any else before?


Here's a pic to show you. Notice my dead body, and the fact that my total skill is only 480ish. Also, I lost Punkte....Very strange indeed.

Don't Balrons count as demons in the same way Coil counts as a silver serpent? (I know I have checked this once but can't remember the answer)

Don't think so. Because Coils and Silver Serpents are orange to you regardless of Enemy of one or not. Whereas a Balron is gray unless you cast Enemy of one.

Same thing with Ogre's and Ogre Lords. Regular Ogre's are not Orange and they do not stat....Just weird.

wow, holy crap lol ... can you imagine if they implemented this in a new patch, certain monsters turning orange to increase danger and risk ?

How positive are you that you weren't in skill loss before you went to Ilsh, and just didn't notice? This could potentially explain why you would die more easily to a creature you are used to fighting.

That's happened to me.

I also have thought I was in loss but wasn't, wondering why it was taken so long for my spirit to recover.

And the answer sometimes is that I was never in loss to start with.

More seriously, could you have damaged yourself somehow? I'm not entirely sure how the trap-box stat loss fix for factions works, but it seemed a possibility.

Hmm, I do use a trap box...but I did not kill myself from it. But I would have, throughout the duration of the fight, taken damage from it. that could have been a possibility.

Let me try this out now, I'll post in a few after I've tried it...

Update.

Using a trap box, while having EOO casted did not stat me either. I don't know what happened. Just weird.

if your count resources goes off when you are redlined and you have a box...you will go stat. just saying...

Yup, could be that the trapped box was just the final 'tick' of damage - so that's what actually killed you, not the balron.

That'd do it.

yeah...I didn't die to a 7 damage trapt box...It was a 35 hit followed by a flamestrike when i was on the run...but yeah. I have no idea how it happened. Because I've re-tested it about 8 times and haven't went stat since.
