I'm looking for one of those Event Item wedding bands. Not the ones you can craft, but the ones they gave out with special messages on them. I want one without a name on it. ICQ: 423-630-420

I'd buy any cute ring without name in it for like 20-25m if that helps for the price check

So am i right in my assumption that un-named wedding bands/rings are worth more than a named one?

Obviously.

One with no name can be given to and worn by anyone.

Would you wear a ring saying 'Oh I love you, George Neonr0x0r'?

Now you see I swear that the last price I saw for these things last year was around the 50 mil range...why did this particuliar item go down in value?

I was wondering the same thing. I sold one....Bond of love with no beginning and no end...for 10 mil about 5 months ago? And I was told then that 10-20 was the going rate for unnamed wedding rings.

Kaj - i thought as much but i was just checking - however there may have been at some stage wedding bands exchanged between two "great" players and this in turn could make them more valuable - (i know im pushing the boundary's a tad here) -

i basially just wanted to make sure i was on the right track:p

I think the ones that are worth more are from the old program "Magic Moments". The program was launched around September 2003 and was canceled in January 2004. There is a good link here. It cost $40 and you could choose from a few different events such as a wedding, birthday, etc. You would get invitations to your event, party favors, a cake and some other things. As you can imagine, not many people bought this service and as a result items created for it are quite rare since it was only offered for 4 or 5 months. If you chose a wedding, a gm would officiate and you would exchange "ice white" blessed rings with engravings of your choice. The main difference between these rings and the old IGM created rings, other than color, is that fact they can be locked down since they are blessed and not newbied. I don't have any of the older normal looking rings, so I may be wrong about the lock down part. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, I have one of these rings on Pacific. It is ice white, blessed and says "We Will Conquer All" and it CAN be locked down. I was offered 75 mil for it in late 2006 if that helps. I would be willing to sell it for the right price.

A picture can be seen here

I have something similar to that.

It is a 'Diamond Weddingband', and it can't be locked down, and it is not blessed.

Askeroth, what you're describing is an old player-made weddingband. They were newbied when they were made. The most commonly traded ones are the ones with multiple gems or tree ornament versions.

Seer/Counselor given wedding rings usually could be either gold or silver and had whatever inscription the wedding couple asked for, if the official agreed to it. Usually people requested silver rings, as there were no normally obtainable silver rings at the time.

For the Magic Moments program, I believe the inscriptions were selected from a preset list of possible choices. Most, if not all, included the player's names in the inscriptions. The list is probably still on the website's list of updates somewhere. I believe the bottom ring is a Magic Moment's ring. It unfortunately has a name on it of someone I don't know.
It only cost me 50k in an auction. (and people laughed at me for buying it..)
