I submitted a house to the UO’s Oldest Houses and they deleted it instead of getting the banner. This was a grandfathered account with 5 houses on Atlantic and the other 4 houses got the banner. I paged a GM and we all know where that went...

The house is still in the list at UO Stratics *New* | UO’s Oldest Houses
The name is "The Tool Shed"

Uhmm.. I would have to check to see where that house was but if this really did happen then the person who owned that house should be redeemed and the GM needs fired..

Must have be EMs doing the banners I guess? If that is the case than he/she made a mistake and needs to redeem you..

Was it your house? Is the owners account active?

Yes it was my house on an active account and I was not hacked. I have 4 other houses on the account that did not get affected and nothing else is missing. I will post a screen shot in the morning.

I can verify as i know the owner. This is a one of those horrid things that happens in a game like this!

Luther has had that account up and active for longer then that house was standing.

Aside from that, I have never seen anything so wrong happen to a better player.

You know when I saw the post about the houses I decided I wasn't going to participate since the paranoid side of me wanted to know Why? Also in the back of my mind what if something gets messed up.

One other thing you might concern yourself with is that your account is compromised and someone got in and demolished the house. I'd do a virus scan and change your passwords as well as the password on the email account associated with the address. Maybe your stratics password too and it might help to make them different from each other so if one password gets compromised, they can't access all your various accounts with the same password.

Out of curiosity, were any of your other houses listed on the house list or was this the only one?

In all the years I owned the house I never took a screen shot of it. It was a 7X7 touching 3 trees. It was placed in 1998 when that was allowed. I am guessing that's why they deleted the house.

I also have larger homes on the account that made the list for the oldest homes that did not get affected so I am convinced my account was not compromised.

I don't think this incident has anything to do with enforcing rules. Sounds like an error was made instead.

That really sucks, but I wouldn't get your hopes up about getting it back. EA deletes things from time to time without reason/explanation. To get it back, youl have to page GMs who will tell you to contact support. Then you'l have to spend a good month emailing support back and forth only to be told to spend an hour on the phone on their (NON-TOLL-FREE) number and speak to a 'service' rep. Oh wait, even at this point you still won't get your stuff back. Sorry about that.

I'd be stunned to see how they could replace it but if it was a error on EA/OSI/Mythic's part I'd say some serious sucking up need be done. Save for the one reply from Mes can we, the player base, get some follow up for our own sake?

i have 3 grandafathered houses, 2 of which are on baja.. one is a castle and atleast that old but no way would i post them on here for any reason.

Looks like Things are coming around. Luther has been email tagging Mesanna for most of the afternoon and they are near agreement I think...

From what I have gathered from Luther she has no idea what happened but is willing to replace the 5th house to the account somehow.

As for items and teleporter that are all still missing, it hasnt even dawned on Luther yet, maybe the "true value" of the loss.

But all said so far he is in better spirits having been told the house itself will be replaced on the same account. As to what and where we dont know!

The EMs can create, modify and delete objects. Why not a house? a house is just another object or group of objects. Anyway, seems that the EMs are not part of this old houses contest.

You would think they could load up a backup and see the house and it's contents. I wouldn't expect with UO that it could be as simple as "copy & paste" but c'mon this is 2012 here. They should be able to pull data out of a backup by now.

Mesanna told me she did not know why my house fell. From what I understand the house was already missing when she showed up. She let me get my house back but not the items(I did not ask for them). I now have my 5 house account back.

or like I said just turn the shard on internally as a test and go look at the house and replace the items

That's what I meant by loading a backup. We know they backup the shards. It's just a matter of how long they keep those backups and if they pull one up on an in house server, can they pull data out of it to put it into the live server?

Secondly I've seen little evidence that their ability to create, modify, or delete objects extends anywhere near far enough to delete a house. In fact I seriously doubt they could delete, for example, my weapon. If they could I'd be surprised. I have the impression they are more limited than the Seers were. And I don't recall Seers deleting houses or being able to. (And if such a thing had happened we'd have heard about it. Googling UO Seers delete houses brings up Sear's.)

Of course they can, but that doesnt mean they will or they care for your weapon or any other item that you or anyone else is wearing. They can look in your backpack, see hidden chars, move to your position, move chars to their position, walk in private houses (well, every char can walk on a private house and I, with a few other ppl and EMs tested that). A house is just another object and they can remove objects but again, that doesnt mean they will do that. Seems that they always are asking for permission to do certain thigs.

I was talking about what I've talked with EMs and what I've tested with EMs too, so its not speculation maybe except for the "Seems that they always are asking for permission to do certain thigs."
And I didnt say anything negative, maybe you should read the post again.

Galen, you just dont understand how some things work or shows into the client but I dont plan to teach you that since you will be asking for "evidence" anyway.

And just to be clear, I have never said that the EMs do anything wrong to the players or to the shards. Some of them can deal with the griefers without the need to use "powers" or anything like that but talking to them and integrating them into the event. Eventually, griefers desist.
