I found one of these in my stable on my Atlantic pure mage, it is a lot of fun. I ended up buying a second one. On siege I would be hesitant to fill my stable slots with two (just stone taming and get mares) but they are a lot of fun. If you can't find any and go the taming route letme know and I can get you a cu or something.
For Siege, the question is Will you ever have taming? If not, go for it man. As long as you've got the stable space (limited amount, esp non tamers), vollems are fun. BUT, if you are a total pet ***** like me, every space counts. Since vollems have the same stat range as nightmares, a tamer would do better to get the mare because they are free and you get to pick one with optimal stats / resists. IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION of taming though, vollems are great. you will still need to train them just like any other pet. They are cute little hellraisers after that.

That makes them 5 mil each based on our usual 10gold per turn in pt. Before they were added to the turn in list, I purchased 6 in the past at wayyyy more than 5 each.
5 mil, uff! Is ok for me on siege, I'vegot taming rocking finally. But on atl I have a character I might pick one up for. I think my dream player reward / major artifact would be a staff that only had one ability (and no spell channeling, to try and balance it a little). It would say "while held, add 1 control slot".

Years ago when it was only two stable slots I tried to get another slot for tinkers for my golem!
I threw one on a vendor at the Bellaire Museum (just SE of the TerMur moongate in Guardzone) for 5 Million. [Vendor in Greenish Plate Armor on the Right Side of the steps]
