I wanted to take a moment to thank Sakkarah for providing the following information in a different thread:
12th anniversary Gifts - Yes
11th year veteran rewards - Yes
12th year veteran rewards - Yes
Halloween event/goodies - Yes
When - soon
Spoilers - no
I was not involved in the 11th anniversary items so I cannot comment about those.

We hate not giving you dates as much as you hate not getting them. But just as an example, we wanted to give you the 12th anniversary gifts and both the 11th and 12th year rewards this week. QA caught some issues with the rewards that we've diligently been working on resolving. Before you blink, you can't make the deadline to be able to publish that week. If we had announced a date before we got QA's thumbs up, we would be backpedaling right now and you guys would not only be aggravated you didn't get them but also feeling let down because we didn't keep our word.

So we do not want to give a date then have to recant. All I can confirm is that we are working on it and you will be getting them soon.
This information is greatly appreciated in light of Calvin Crowner's post to keep watch for announcements which he made on 9/22.

I would like to take this one step further, and encourage continued communication in this manner, and would like to suggest that something similar to In Development be used again. While I understand Mythic's hesitation to provide exact dates, having a list to refer to that will keep us apprised as to what's coming soon in the game is a great thing to have. Many of the other MMOs out there do this, including WoW, which indicates to me that many of them believe communication outweighs the potential that another company might steal an idea or that a player might be disappointed if something is removed or tabled for some time, but simply keeping constant, updated communication does wonders for keeping the subscriber-base happy.

In short, thanks for the great communication there, and please, keep it up and let it lead to further open communication on forthcoming projects.

I appreciated the update too, although it's essentially a "yes, you read Cal's announcement correctly and yes, we hit a bump in the road"

The problem with an "under development" list for UO is that I sense UO has a higher-than-normal proportion of items that are attempted but never see the light of day (at some stage of development they are ultimately found to create more problems than they solve). I could be wrong, but I suspect people would be more upset about things on the list that eventually get yanked than they would be about not knowing they were there in the first place.

Petra posed a really good question on the other thread so I will just quote that:

Has anyone considered that there might be rules at EA about who can post what? That they may not always be allowed to tell us things they'd perhaps like to?
There are always rules of who can and cannot say what. I'm sure there is a lot more going on but no one can say anything on the matters. Perhaps the additional information that they cannot mention yet is intended as a nice surprise? D

61 words with no period. I think you should get a prize the the longest run on sentence in history.
I Like the points you made never the less. More word from the team would be nice.
