NEWS Vesper Auction House Irrecovably Damaged in Floods

Elaine Covedweller sloshed through the lowest floor of the Vesper Auction House, retrieving the odd bit of salvageable debris as she glowered at a man on the other side of the room. The man withered under her gaze, but held firm.

"The foundation and first floor are simply too badly damaged, madam," he said. "I can not in good conscience do anything but condemn the entire building."

Even Elaine, stubborn as she was, could not argue with the foremost architect in Vesper. She sighed deeply. "Send for the demolition team, then. There's not much left here to save."

He bowed and took his leave, leaving Elaine standing ankle-deep in water and wondering what in the world to tell her ailing mother.

Or maybe it is some kind of a fatal blow to her mother Ivy. She's already very ill. Perhaps Elaine is hoping to finish off her mother and grasp power in Vesper, along with her mother's riches..

The people of Minoc send their best wishes that the auction house is salvageable or rebuilt. We stand ready with assistance if requested. I hope @Tehan is mistaken and Elaine isn't trying to kill her ailing mother, just to try and obtain the governorship and the mass wealth Ivy has amassed. Minoc's citizens will be watching their neighbors to the south.
