Very unhappy about the changes to BODs....

considering re-forging uses multiple charges per item, it makes sense to make runics more common.

making val runics impossible to get was a mistake from the first day of the BOD system. I never understood why they did it.

When I played I did BODs as well ... because I enjoyed "scoring" that elusive hammer or whatever. While I understand how it appears to be a change to "a trophy for everyone" setup, there is no reason you (or I or others who feel the same) just does not do the trade-up steps. <shrug>

I'm sort of sad to see what UO is becoming, but pretty dadgum happy about the extera cash in my pocket!

Back before imbuing, on TC, I used several Vals, since I could get all i wanted, made me glad I'd never ever bought one.
You'll be making items similar to what's currently in Shame? Oh thrill.

and remember, re-forging uses "a non-magical craftable item that is not made from special materials".
means Iron only? (or no pre-imbuing enhanced), no hci, no leech, no nothing? hmmm

I think it'll still be a grind, all for a 'significant' boost? heard that word used before. I'll just just wait and see, thanks

Valorite Hammers were a lot easier to get about one year after the bod system was out than they are today. It was THE thing to do. People had multiple accounts with gm smiths getting bods (a 120 scroll was just as rare).

The thing was people were trading and you had a chance to get a val hammer with as low as an agapite lbod. I got my first val hammer through trades of the lowest lbod with a chance at a val hammer. I hit the lottery. The next day they nerfed the 50 uses down to 15 lol.

That was really what soured me on bods ever again. I think this new system will help make up for the lack of bod traders which is good in the short term but bad if more people do it and flood the market. Its just a bandaid for the system now.

I still have a full valorite lbod that i could turn in for the runic.

and to get really good mods the item will be brittle and unable to be repaired
