if you check the icq number and it does not match above do the following

To help yourself out

Right click this person in your icq list
select view
select profile
click the prifile name once
it will open an edit window which allows you to change the name displayed
type in Scammer
this will change the name on your list from Lord nabin to Scammer and help to keep you safe.

One scam they use is to try and sell you the Atlantic Auction House in Luna.

1. its not for sale.
2. he is banned from the house.

If you are talking with a nabin and can not get into the house then guess what

its the scammer.

I have posted these alerts on Uoforums as well. I would check them all.

Some impersonator is running around with one of my character names and acting in very negative community behavior. When I was telling some friends about this… I was told another well known community name is also being impersonated. I believe they are one in the same player.

I will not say what names… but this is just part of the criminal element in our game. Ruining someone’s name… as just a single player or someone who owns a major and historical site that is all about the community. Scammers always try and trick people into trusting them. Even though we get little to NO HELP from the game staff… the real world rules still apply to “buyer beware”. If it sounds too good to be true… it is. That goes for Lagtown houses… as well as people just minding their own business.

One of the things WoW did well was unique names. Yes, it can be a bit annoying, but since UO is even more based on RPish humans, would be very easy to come up with essentially an infinite number of names.

Thanks for letting us know. I know that many have tried to impersonate me as well. I have let Atlantic know as well.

IMO, these very well known people who are being impersonated should created a one man guild and let everyone know which shard they are on. Or you can go on every shard and make sure that nobody else can choose that guild name if you like to cross shard trade a lot. These people may be able to recreate a character with your name a thousand times, but if you choose to create a guild, nobody on that specific shard can recreate a guild with the same exact guild name or even abbreviation I believe? If you are still paranoid you can do like I said and recreate that guild on all shards that way if you are cross sharding, people will see that guild name and use it as a way to tell if it is really say "Lord Nabin" that we are dealing with or if it's some scammer impersonating him. You would have that as well as ICQ/email/PMs. I would make SURE they are ONE man guilds as well.

I wouldn't add people to the guild, there are to many people in this game that will turn on you in a split second. Say if you are in HOT on Atlantic and you are like SupSoc I think he is in HOT? If it were me, I would create a one man guild and if I still want to participate in the things HOT does and play with those guild members then you could just form an Alliance with them and your one man guild.

Not to mention I have a very unique name. I have a period at the end of my name. That hasn't been allowed for a long time now, to have a period at the end of a name.

Also, if anyone has a "contact" on legends. you're more than welcome to ICQ me about it 248964600. Only like 5 people on legends collect high end rares and we're a pretty tight knit group. It's likely any of us will know when another is looking to make a large purchase.

He a has been very active today. I have had 12 people contact me that he is actively contacting them by icq and in game. Make it a careful day friends and please do spread the word.

Currently we know of three names across two accounts which are tied to him

These are all banned at the Atlantic Auction House and are for sure tied to the scammer.

Everyone please note that there has been a good amount of activity this week from the scammer contacting people via ICQ and in game.

I will be gone most of the weekend with limited internet access. If your being contacted by a "Nabin" this afternoon on into the weekend it is highly likely you are talking to the scammer.

Things to Remember

Always Verify the ICQ number -

Only do business with a Nabin who shows the guild tag "ACW"-

When Subbmitting Items for the Atlantic Auction House we never ever take items directly they are always placed into one of the mailboxes which secures the items till I or the Auctioneer Dj Sandman can remove them.
