Unravel stuff.
You can't unravel items made out of special material.
Use a dull copper runic hammer and make a bag full of daggers out of plain iron.
Use a spined sewing kit and make items out of plain leather.
Use an oak fletcher's kit and make bows out of plain wood.
All of the above have enough mods to unravel to magic residue. Craft them directly into your unravelling bag, it goes very fast.

Wait, you can craft items directly into a container? Dear lord how do you do that? I would love not having to drag things into my smelting bag by hand!

Put your resources in the bag first. Make sure no other resources for the items you are making are in your backpack or another bag.

what item and what material did you unravel? maybe its a bug
That is incorrect, you can unravel items made from, or enhanced with, special materials.
You can't, however, imbue them.

i tried to unravel items made of special material and had no chance to unravel it
i tried
oak, ash, yew bow
golden dagger
spined and horned leather cap
all exceptional
i didnt get any msg the unravel bag just didnt do anything and refused to unravel
so what did i wrong?

weird in my first post the excep oak bow didnt work
then i tried out except. oak bokuto it worked to unravel
then again an ex. oak bow and it worked too, ash didnt
the items that didnt work i got the message ... items posses low or no magic properties.
so it seems you can unravel oak items when it has at least 45 DI and 40 luck ... 40 DI + 40 luck doesnt unravel
any other combinations which are able to unravel?
