Vanishing Bank Items!

Ok... I'm not sure what is what... BUT.. I spent 500k yesterday on a bag of three coins. A silver sovereign(sp?), A copper shilling, and A gold crown. When I got on this morning... the bag was in my bank where I left it... but the coins were gone? Is there something I am not aware of? Like UO deleted or does anyone know a way to get them back?

*sighs* They spend... If you bought from a vendor they are likely gone.

Since the day they were introduced in an event 2-3 years ago, it has been known that those items are treated AS GOLD PIECES, and should not be kept on your person or in your bank when buying items (including things like dying while insured and stabling pets).

You should have taken some time to find out the history of the items, if you're gonna spend half a million on something.

Dont store coins in bank box or have them on you.
They get spent.

Ouch. That's unfortunate to hear. It's true: when I was gathering things from the castle I heard people saying they lost all theirs because they went shopping. I think it's kind of cool that it's an accepted form of currency. Shame the person you bought it from didn't warn you :/

Oh goodness! I was taking a break during this items drop and didn't know anything about them beyond several people asking me if I knew where to get them... they were a past event.. blah blah... that makes me sad!

Snakeman... anyone else... I will buy a set if someone is willing? I'm on Napa!

Yeah, happened to me as well :(

I bought some a while back around 250k or something. Bought a couple more items from vendors and noticed they were all vanished.

Funny thing though, I bought them because I noticed the ones I had stored in my bank for safe keeping for a long time were mysteriously gone, lol. Of course after losing the second pair I found out why they vanish :p

It's more than they are treated as gold pieces, they ARE gold pieces, but with their named changed.

As explained a long time ago...when you buy something it takes the gold from the smallest pile first, so your little single coins were the first thing that went.

Yea i lost a sigil torch this way too...

Luckily i had a cpl extras stashed away...but i had to learn that lesson the hard way..

There are tons of "red" hued torches on Atlantic... per chance: I had bought thousands from NPC many years ago then released them on the market after having the specific NPC deleted :D
In other words, if it werent me, "red" torches wouldnt be so cheap now rolleyes:

The keep is great... full again but great. Ugh! I need a castle... WHICH reminds me of a post I wanted to put up...

yep another reason why you don't hire programmers from those late night tv at home degree programs. :(

i swear some of the things the programmers just "forget" to fix..
