Vampiric embrace

I've been raising necro and now i have 111.4 and 112 of SS.
But if i try to cast vampiric embrace it seem to work, the skin become white,
there are the green sparks and the sound of changement but i remain with the human form. It's a bug or it all right?
I thought that i have to become a vampire, like lich form or wraith form. I'm wrong? It's right that with vampiric embrace i don't change the human form or it's a bug?

vamp form keeps you human (or elf), and just turns your skin white. it's the only form that allows you to keep mounted.
