Point taken, but hey people that don't have more than one game interest have to have something to do while the cities are down....hehe.

My useless fact.....payout for 20.51 in a particular skill's object is the same as 20.99 so that's almost 2 green cycles of skilling nearly wasted, yet I(and alot of other people) still continue to do it just to be able to lock a skill at 20.99
Not to mention that 20.99 still shows up on a pizza table as 20, not 21

Even in crafting the success/fail ratio can't be that significant from 20.51 to 20.99. As I said, I always skill the skill I want to lock to 20.99 just to see it there, but for the rest of the skills, including crafting ones I've found a distinct disinterest in skilling beyond 20.51 unless I need alot of AFK time and use it to prop a 2nd skill up to 20.99 or 20.98 since my second skill usually drops from 20.99 the instant my sim stands up. All that accomplishes though is making it longer until I have to top off, because I don't bother topping off till it's under 20.51, usually sometime around 20.21 or so.....

When you make potions, there are different colors...but...
if you make potions on the same table over and over it will always come out the same color.

...Well I know what I'm gonna test when I get back in the game lol..if I remember correctly or not :p

As ive got nothing better to do im gonna have a pancake about store owners abusing the priviledge of running stores afk. The devs made it clear to us that they need stores open now that there is no buy mode, and I DO run my store afk, but when im afk there will just be the owner or roomie hiding.

Im happy to keep the store open when im sleeping or at work, but i wouldnt dream of packing it with a load of non roomie afk sims just to manipulate the top 100 list. I run 6 accounts, I could easily have my store open with 5 other hidden sims just to rack up visitor hours, but I just wouldnt do it. I just wouldnt abuse the priviledge that we, as store owners, have been given.

There are 2 stores that regularly have between 6 and 12 (yes seriously 12) hidden afk sims. They are of course at the top of the list and I hope they are very proud of their phoney achievement.

It's 7 or 8 different colors. A long time ago, when I got bored, I bought a lot of potions to find all the different colors.

There's Light green, dark green, yellow, orange, red, blue, pink - I think that's it -- so it's 7 colors.

WTG to whichever stores on your phoney achievement. You now get your choice between a chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie. If you purchase 10 more accounts your choices will increase to include chocolate cake and brownies!!

But no forever birthday cake because thats put aside for sims who compete fairly.

(Compete fairly...lol...I didn't want to put compete the right way because there really isn't a right way, but this is a social game and I play like "love thy neighbor", and I believe in everyone getting a fair shot at being #1. I know someone who had a store in CC forever, and couldn't get above #3 on the list because of players like this...it's just not cool!)

(1) My sim hairdo is so powerful that it penetrates through the back of chairs and even the diver's helmet.

(2) The same piece of chocolate cream pie has been in the black fridge for YEARS and remains yummy looking.

(3) There is only ONE female costume that has a weapon (Roman, knife). I forget how many male outfits have weapons, but it's more than one

Amen!! I am never AFK at my store -- in fact, I always leave my store to go AFK (unless it's going to be for less than 30-ish seconds).


I'm not going to point fingers as those people are very obvious.

I have to struggle to get even in the top-20, *bragging alert* then again, I *am* known for customer service.

Being near or at the top of the list makes a property receive more foot traffic. The fault lies in the list. People do what they need to do to ensure business. There’s no other way to truly advertise. People do not frequent stores under the top 9 like they do those in the top 9. I’ve been around long enough to know. I don't see placement on the list as an accomplishment; I see it as a greater probability of having business.

I don't put things out there for the fun of it all. I don't invest a ton of up front money to place things for sale and offer customers 50% off retail just for kicks. I work that lot for profit and I work with customers when I’m there.

We changed our name to include "zombie" because people on the boards were calling us that... so we figured why not. We weren't hiding the fact or trying to be something we're not. And it is amazing that the store can run for 5 hours during the day and not a single visitor of the whole bunch (and there's a lot) say "hi" or request anything.

I love the way SL stores are ran... the fact that stores can create and put items out for sale and never need to micro manage the store. This is a problem in TSO/EALand and it seems as though people are not seeing the big picture... there would be way more time for fun, socialization, creativity, etc.

.....as opposed to the real achievement of running a store afk while you override timeout keeping it open as you sleep/are at work? Surely there are enough stores open that this is not necessary.....WTF.

No you dont. If you really loved to do it, you'd BE there doing it, not letting the store stay open AFK while the simoleans roll in. To me that is only one step lower than botting, the only difference being that the simoleans will not roll in as fast as botting. If you loved to do it, the list wouldn't matter. It wouldn't matter if you had 1 sale or 100 sales in a day if virtual selling is really your passion. Own it and be honest about it. What you really love is to be able to be afk off doing RL things or playing another RL game and having the potential for money to come in without you literally having to lift a finger other than to stock your store. You do not even have to say 'hello, if you need any help, please let me know' to your customers. If places like Wal-Mart did not have employees to answer questions, or cashiers to check out people's purchases, I doubt they'd be the multi-billion dollar corporation they are. Stores in TSO aren't nearly to that scale but you get my drift. AFK stores are just the lazy sim's way to easy money.

The ongoing AFK Store debate seems to be slightly off the topic of "useless information", but for what its worth, I have 2 questions for those of you who don't like "AFK Stores" (I am not a store owner btw):

1. What is a store owner to do for hours if not allowed to go AFK?

2. Why does this bother you so much?

I happened to land at your store during the wee hours of the morning because my alternate sim got herself stuck there. I wanted to see if I could see her greyed out avatar.

You promptly replied to my question about resetting etc. in which I said "nevermind its almost time for maintenance anyway". You were very nice &amp; I appreciated that. You have a nice shop. Keep up the good work!
