Upgrade Account

I havent played since 10/23/2009 (thanks stratics for giving me last visit date) and I would now like to start playing again but unfortunately my account, although I paid for it while not playing is missing a TON of upgrades.

Thus I was wondering, what codes I need to purchase in order to get myself up to "par"

I dont want to accidently purchase the wrong codes and buy the same upgrade twice (ie a code that will give me 2 upgrades).

So what is the best package available to get my account up to speed? (see attached picture)

From a quick read through of your list, barring errors because it's a stupidly early hour in the morning, I reckon you are only 'missing' :

For access to the content that's live at present, add Stygian Abyss and High Seas (both of which are on sale right now, this thread - http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/239311-uo-sa-will-sale-ea-april-22-24-a.html has most of the info). The 'Rustic' and 'Gothic' packs are probably coming in the very near future but are not live or available just yet.

7th character slot and extra housing space are handy, but don't anything to the content for play - you can get those off the UOGamecodes store, there's a 'package' offer that drops the price a little if you buy both together, here.

Otherwise all I think you are 'missing' is the 7th Anni registration, and that was from a code you got with the 7th anni set and if memory serves, all it would add to your game if you got hold of a code for it now would be the ability to use the crystal and shadow house deco.

But it is currently 4am here and I may have missed something ...... so wait while other folks chip in just in case there's a glaring error in my list!

By purchasing the SA code you will be all up to date, adding the High Sea's Booster will allow you to do the new Fishing quests, ride/use the new boats, do Scalis & Corgul spawns & lvl 7 maps.

Also the big thing that helps most people out:
Housing and Bank Storage Increase This is an additional increase of 20% to both your house storage and bank storage.

Just before SA came out, EA upgraded everyones accounts thru ML. I think someone has posted that SA is on sale right now, and that is a pretty nice expansion.

Do i need SA to have High Seas?

SA doesnt appeal to me but High Seas does

no u do not need sa to have pirate expansion. but content wise, stygian abyss is alot of stuff you get. new craftables, new house parts,new skills, gargoyle race. several new dungeon areas with boss. and chicken lizards for fighting. the hi seas content is very good. but, is only 10 percent compared to all of stygian abyss upgrade. Sa is well worth the money.

Side question, if I dont upgrade to High Seas and I am sailing can i still run into NPC pirates?

If so can they damage my old large dragon ship? or just kill me and thats it?

Theoretically, yes. In reality, no - they're easily outrun or avoided, you just need to pay attention and run when you see them.

Ok i upgraded to UO:SA and I still only have 5 character slots...whats the deal?

How to I get 6 and 7? Actually I dont care about 7, I just want 1 more

The token for 7 characters is available at the following webpage just after the 11th year list of items on the left side.

You can get the 7 characters alone, or as a combo pack that includes 20% extra storage. The 6th character option was something offered years back and isn't offered anymore that I can tell.
