oki, I'm confused. Where's this 9x mainstream shards coming from?

<blockquote><hr>

vendor fees are
6k per 1m
3k per 500k
600gp per 100k
6gp per 1k
3gp per 500gp

vendor fees on Siege are
18k per 1m
9k per 500k
1800gp per 100k
18gp per 1k
9gp per 500gp

[/ QUOTE ]

Last time I looked, 3 x 6k = 18k, 3 x 3k = 9k.

They do make me think twice about putting something on a vendor if I'm not sure if it will sell or not, but as far as I can see, they're as advertised - ie 3 x main stream shards.

By the KB formula

Regular shards 20 + ((1,000,000 - 500)/500) = 2019 real world day(rwd)
Siege works out to 20x9 + ((1,000,000)/500)x9) = 180 + 18,000 = 18,180 (rwd)

FrejaSP worked the math out correctly
the other ... did not

FrejaSP
1,000,000 (on siege) 18k per 1m (rounded out the 180)
DVI
6k per 1m THOUGHT that he had hit the real numbers by multiplying the regular by 3 (2019 x 3 = 6,057 ... (rnd out the 57 for 6k))

Freja has a screenie in the op ...
Also checks to 9X

helped?

Thanks for your help to finding the problem with Siege vendor taxes. I remember Wilki a few years told us nothing was wrong even when we all was complaining, that vendor changes make vendors more expensive.
I hope Devs will look at it again and correct it

Fayled look in the Siege thread, Homegrown found something that maybe explain it

It do turn out, both normal shards and Siege shards do charge 3x to much.
It should be:
Vendor will charge 20 + (((10,000-500)/500)= 39gp per UO day.

But Normal shards Vendor will charge 20x3 + (((10,000-500)/500)x3) = 60 +57gp =117 per UO day.

Siege shards Vendor will charge 20x9 + (((10,000-500)/500)x9) = 180 + 180gp =360 per UO day.

The playguide say;
The first 500 gp worth that you have for sale are covered by the base fee the Vendor charges.

For each additional 500 gp worth of merchandise, the vendor charges 1 gp maintenance fee per UO day.

Example: With a base fee of 20 gp and 5500 gp of merchandise for sale, the vendor charges 20 + ((5500-500)/500) gp per UO day. This works out to a total of 20 + 10 gp, or 30 gp.

It does not work that way on the shards, they all charge 3x to much a day

Normal shard fee is start fee 60 gp +3 gp for each 500gp = 63 gp for 500gp of wares
Siege fee is start fee 180 gp +9 gp for each 500gp = 189 gp for 500gp of wares (180 base + 9 gp for the 500gp stuff)

uo day 20 for the vendor 1 per 500
3 uo days per 1 real world day
60 for the vendor 3 per 500 = 63 RWD
good thing I mentioned the "check my math, Wizards"

eh?

(checked this(^above^) bit on my own and with a blue char on prod shard ...)

The KB HAS this little bit:
With a base fee of 20gp and 10,000gp of merchandise for sale, the Vendor will charge 20 + ((10,000-500)/500) = 39gp per UO day. Since there are 12 UO days in a real day, that would come to 468gp per real day.

KB appears to be WRONG then ... huh?
(math works with a 3x3=9 ... Doesn't work with an empty vendor ON SIEGE charging 180 per day WITH 12 uo days per RWD ...
)

SO .... MY math error discovered
KB error indicated (formula wise... number of UO days per Real World Day on Vendors)
Siege IS at a 3X rate of normal shards
Normal shards (and Siege) have VENDORS counting 3 sosarian Days per Real World Day ...

Siege 3x 3SosarianDays of 20gp per Sday = 180gp per RWD(checked)
Normal 3SosarianDays of 20gp per Sday = 60gp per RWD(checked)

Siege 3x 3Sdays of 1gp per 500gpSales = 9gp per RWD(checked)
Normal 3Sdays of 1gp per 500gpSales = 3gp per RWD (checked)

(checked)
??

I still don't get it, I see nothing in the UO playguide that explain this 3x prices. The playguide say nothing about normal shards (and Siege) have VENDORS counting 3 sosarian Days per Real World Day

"Example: With a base fee of 20 gp and 5500 gp of merchandise for sale, the vendor charges 20 + ((5500-500)/500) gp per UO day. This works out to a total of 20 + 10 gp, or 30 gp." (from playguide)

We do pay 3x to much both on Siege and normal shards. I don't know if it's a problem on normal shards but it sure is on Siege.

Siege 3x <font color=red>3SosarianDays</font color=red> of 20gp per Sday = 180gp per RWD(checked) <font color=green>should only be 60gp per RWD</font color=green>
Normal <font color=red>3SosarianDays</font color=red> of 20gp per Sday = 60gp per RWD(checked)<font color=green>should only be 20gp per RWD</font color=green>

Siege <font color=red>3x 3Sosariandays</font color=red> of 1gp per 500gpSales = 9gp per RWD(checked)<font color=green>should only be 3gp per RWD</font color=green>
Normal <font color=red>3Sosariandays</font color=red> of 1gp per 500gpSales = 3gp per RWD (checked)<font color=green>should only be 1gp per RWD</font color=green>

I would like Devs to explain this 3SosarianDays and why it have to kill our vendors on Siege.
I wish to see alot new shops grow up on Siege. Crafters and merchants had always been the backbone of the Siege community so losing them hurt Siege badly.

hehehehe FrejaSP ... your kidding right?

the linky is RIGHT HERE ^^ up there ... only that one is titled KB

I didn't make that formula up(20 + ((10,000-500)/500) = 39gp per UO day) I copied it from the link ...

Stratics has : (&lt;&lt; thats a linky too ... btw)
For each 500 gp worth of merchandise the Vendor will charge 1 gp maintenance fee per 8 hours. (Example: With a base fee of 20 gp and 5500 gp of merchandise for sale the Vendor will charge 20 + ((5500-500)/500) = 30 gp per 8 hours).

Just put a 5500 gp rune on my testbed vendor
My charge per real world day IS: 93

By the KB formula(12sday per rwd, look it up)
(20 + ((5500-500)/500) = 30gp per UO day ... times 12 ... 360 per rwd
(THE KB formula had different amounts BUT ... they DID multiply by 12: --(KB says: 20 + ((10,000-500)/500) = 39gp per UO day. Since there are 12 UO days in a real day, that would come to 468gp)

By the stratics formula
20 + ((5500-500)/500) = 30 gp per 8 hours(sosarian day for vendor). so 90 gp per rwd

Now ... theres two documented links ... both wrong as far as describing what vendors are actually charging in game, Siege AND regular shards ...
but both DO mention (different) multiple charges PER REAL WORLD DAY(rwd)
and
Both of the formulas have the -500 wrong (10,000<font color=red>-500</font color=red>)/500)

Stratics is CLOSER to being a true description of the ACTING formula ingame ... take the minus five hundred out (<font color=red>-500</font color=red>))
20 + (5500/500) = 31 gp per 8 hours ... Three 8hr periods during a rwd ) *bing* IS: 93gp per rwd
Plug in your original screenie numbers(remember to truncate any decimals OFF)
20 + (47,000/500) = 114 gp per 8 hours
114 x 3(for being Siege) x3 (Three 8hr periods during a rwd ) *BING!* 1026

NO WAY is it supposed to be JUST 1 gp per 500gp for sale Per RWD on normal shards...
Well

MAYBE there is a way ... but you are going to HAVE to linky it ...

btw ...ULTIMA ONLINE : PLAYGUIDE : MISCELLANEOUS
The basic maintenance fee for a vendor starts with 20 to 24 gp per UO day. There are 12 UO days in one real day. The minimum fee per real day is therefore 240 to 288 gp.
