Is anyone else uncomfortable with inputting their username AND password on this site? Or is it just me? Whats the point? U dont need my password to verify that i have an account.

I understand your concerns but this is the EA store
i think they changed the system a few years back to stop brokers buying codes and selling them for gold ingame, it links the code now to the acct
i have used many times for me its as safe as it gets

Are you uncomfortable about typing your account name and password into the UO client to login as well?

I understood UOgamecodes.com to be run by a 3rd party contractor - so I have to say I am not 100% comfortable with it. That's why I prefer to buy through the EA Store.
The website itself is owned by EA at least. Copyright at the bottom says:

It' safe. Ton and tons of people, myself included, have bought codes there and ive never heard of any issue.

EA has an abysmal record when it comes to cybersecurity and the OP has every right to be concerned.
no, im afraid someone is going to put up a fake uogamecodes site that looks exactly like the real one and steal accounts. that was a problem in the past, as i remember
When you use the codes it creates an in game token that you can then sell.
The items that dont create tokens I am sure are not tied to the account as I have two accounts and have purchased game codes with one and used them with the other.
What it does do, is validate you have an active account.
I recently returned and tried to buy the SA upgrade before I had activated my account, it said my account was to new to purchase this. As soon as I activated my account, it worked fine.
If this were true then none of us would still have thier accounts and UO would have died long ago. When has EA accounts ever been hacked.
The only thing I don't get from this site is concerning buying Game Time codes:

I just wish the page would work for me... I try it everynow and then and I always get the error message saying my account name/password doesn't exsist.
Im glad im not the only one who is uncomfortable with this. Everytime I order something from gamecodes I always change my password once the order goes thru.

The earlier "problem" with UOGC was that there >was NOT< any secure/encryption on the login/verify page

You should be More Concerned about entering All of Your
Credit Card Info (re: spoof capture)
than about your pixel security ...

look for the lock ... can even "burrow deeper"

should bring up the related security info

In all seriousness though. yes it was implemented a while ago. There was to many scams going on so this way they can now track who buys what codes etc etc. Also doing it this way eliminated selling game codes for in game gold or for cash elsewhere. As soon as you buy game time codes on uogamecodes.com the game time is applied to the account you logged into the site with.
