UOAssist problems/suggestions thread

I hope this thread doesn't devolve into CC vs. EC but I guess we're gonna find out.

please anyone using CC w/ UOAssist post any problems with UOA. maybe Tug will see it and get motivated to do some updates, or maybe even Mythic Devs will get motivated to make their own CC helper program.

I will start

Something I have always wanted UOAssist to have was

[*] The ability to set up a macro to empty items from one's own backpack into a container that is outside of it like a secure, a pack animal or a Blue Beetle and so forth.
For example, when I am fishing, I hate to have to drag the footware one by one out of my main backpack and I'd LOVE so just be able to record a macro that would empty my backpack of all the footware and put it onto a container on the ship for decay....
Or, be able with a macro to move all the fish I have caught onto a Blue Beetle and not have to do it one at a time..... Fishing can already be so much time consuming and annoying that it really does not need to have to drag all fish and footware one by one hundreds, thousands of times........



[*] Another thing that I'd love UOAssist to cover, is the ability to record Macros not for characters, but for templates. I will try to explain better. As of now, I can record 16 macros for each of my characters. Thing is, that with Soulstones, sometimes my Mage becomes my crafter and my tamer becomes my warrior and so forth and I get all the macros messed up. I would love to have the ability to attach certain macros to SKILLS so that when I load up a skill from the Soulstone along with it I have the option to also be able to load up UOAssist Macros associated with the use of that skill.
Also, often I happen to think that 16 macros are not enough so, having more I would appreciate.

Ignore this, I just noticed that you said CC and not UO Assist. I will leave this here though in case some people did not realize that you could do that with UO Assist.

By mouse wheel, do you mean the scroll wheel? If you do, you should be able to assign a macro for that. My tamer has "all kill" assigned to scroll down and "all follow me" assigned to scroll up. I have been using this for years.

All the mouse buttons really.

I have my peace macro assigned to the little button on the left side of my mouse and my wife has the razor naga gaming mouse that has multiple buttons and she can assign uo assist macros to those.

Windows has basic drivers for your mouse but if yours has extra buttons or functions, make sure that you have installed the official drivers for your mouse. It may seem like I am trying to insult your intelligence but I am not. I know many people that have forgotten to install drivers now that windows installs the basic ones automatically. I hope this helps.

As far as I am aware, it is impossible to assign macros to the scroll up/scroll down in the Classic Client. UOAssist is required to use scroll up/scroll down in the CC.

If this is not the case, a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

i know its different but you can do that with some gamepads
i use the saitek pro gamer command unit so with a flick of the button my macros will go from crafter to mage or whatever im lookin for on that char

Assist is required to assign macros to your mouse. It does it very well but I have had some trouble getting my weapon specials on those mouse keys for some reason with assist. I do love my wither and cleansing winds macro for them though.

If i set enchanted apples as a user resourse to display, it counts the piles of apples i have, and not the apples.

Although I don't think any time should be spent on developing uoassist, it's ridiculous that you have to even download a 3rd party app to play the game.

EC with 2d graphics toggle is the way to go.

UO devs do not spend any time on assist. It would be Tug.

I agree. significant changes to the CC have happened over the years and there's no reason they can't do a big UI upgrade for CC to bring in UOA and EC functionality to the CC

I would also like to see the game window for the CC get larger. I play on a 23 inch monitor and my CC play window is about 1/4 of the screen. I hate having to adjust my monitor resolution to increase the size of the game window because then the graphics are kind of blurry and everything else is huge as well. I am currently playing EC because of that though I actually miss the CC.

They aren't going to do that. The code and all for the CC is not compatible with the modern era. Get over it and just go EC. I play on a 42" monitor... I have zero problems with the EC.

The CC should be only maintained to run ..... focus needs to be put on the EC and the CC needs to be put on "maintenance" mode.

I used my mouse wheel for vent . I never lose a beat talking to somebody in vent while chasing another player down and face planting them.

I just combined macros with UOA and the classic client on the same key with pauses.

I know some people may not agree but I think the whole thing is crazy on so many levels. People are having to pay for decent client functionality here - we're not talking about game content. I don't actually have any problem with paying for content. If you were buying content like the high seas expansion or something, it might be justifiable, but you're not. You're paying for decent client features. And you're having to shell out for it for each account you own too.

But to make it worse, you're not even paying EA. None of the money you're spending is going back in to UO. It's all going to a third party who managed to get lucky riding the UO Pro thing and is getting rich (well, making a nice profit) off of it. The EC only serves to prove how ridiculous this situation is.

Of course, the UO community is partially at fault here. People have complained about this in the past and the general response has been "just pay 15 bux lol". I feel this is the reason that the Classic Client never got any real upgrades. The devs could just go "well they will all be using UOA so why bother".

I could go on, but I'd start ranting so I won't. =P

it's pretty much a requirement to be viable in PvP if you play CC.

there's not much they can do about that except show you the full 18x18 update range. (which I wish they would do) if they did that you'd have a bigger game window but grayed out areas in the corners indicating the fog of war. it would very similar to what you see in EC when zoomed out but EC does not actually show the fog of war (a big downside to using EC)

Yeah? What about the morons who pay to have more than one account open? I can do everything in UO on one account with seven characters and my $15 UOA that I paid for 12 years ago.

You miss the point. UOAssist is a straight stolen product & the guy is charging everyone like 15 bucks per account to use it.

Say what ya want, but UO knows it's a stolen bit of code & they endorse it because the secondary program thats exactly the same thing was designed by people that run shards 100x bigger then EA shards.

Thank you. There are some things that can not be argued away. CC and UOA are tied together for many. Let it go as long as it can... Deeds of the past are what they are.

I will not dispute what you say as I do not know. It is what it is. The classic client sadly has the one mod... That is allowed. Any other mods put your classic client accounts at risk.

Our Devs seemed to have learned that lesson as they move into the future and made the new client fully modifiable by any that wish to do so. There are limits to to this. Join the discussions in the enhanced client forum to learn more.

I tried EC with Pinco's UI. after a few hours of setting things up the game crashed to desktop and I lost all of my settings. it shouldn't take a genius to figure out what my reaction was to that event, especially considering I didn't really like EC to begin with. I was only trying to give it a fighting chance.

no production game should be crashing to desktop EVER. CC doesn't I know that for a fact. in the past I've run a single client for weeks straight.

there's no substitute for stability. the UO developers know that better than anyone on this forum. that's why they should realize people are going to stick with CC and do at least 1 pass of UI enhancements. PLEASE. make UOAssist obsolete once and for all.
