a while ago someone on the uhall mentioned that an obscure japanese website had a modification you could do to the uoam.exe file by changing 1 byte that let you load in the other worlds

actually, I looked into what I did and it looks like I ran a program called UOAM830_SA_Patch.EXE if that helps you to find it on google and it patched uoam.exe for me I guess - it was a while ago and I had forgotten what I did at the time

I can walk you through it if you want. Its actually simple to make it work but it just took some figuring out. I am on windows 7 also... Good luck

i dled uo cartographer a month or 2 ago. works just fine out of the "box".

Actualy now that i think of it I got it off a usb stick my brother gave me not sure where he got it...

Its out there though fresh and new!

I tried UOCartographer but it's missing soooooooo many features that automap has - i'm not a fan

Earlier question again, can a user mod an approved program - or to what extent, whether graphics, or apply someone's patch to the exe, and the program stay approved?

Based on the name of the patch, I assume it will only work with version 8.3.0.0 (beta). Some further instructions have been posted here: http://vboards.stratics.com/1843324-post18.html

that worked to get my map to update on my comp that runs win 7
but my old 'slave comp' that runs XP that didnt work on it.

does anyone use the "-q" option when starting uoam to skip map update checks and it works?
Mine still goes thru the checks whether I do or not

The "-q" option only bypasses the online program update check at uoam.net; you have to go through the map check at least once. If uoam crashes while working on those map performance windows, try putting all sliders to the "slowest" position - this will prevent uoam from creating its own map files.
