UO Stratics News Main

[Doubleplay]

When I start Stratics, I start on the bookmarked page, UO Stratics News Main. From there I jump, using the drop downs to UHall, A profession drop down, or a shard drop down. When finished, I press my browser (back one) arrow to get back to the News Main page.

However if I post something it becomes quite difficult to ever find the News Main page again. It does not appear in the drop down list at the bottom of the posting page. The folder display in the header will not return me to the News Main page. I have to close my browser and restart it to the bookmarked page to get back to my stratics "start" page. Can anyone offer some advice?

Please forgive if this is too obtuse to follow, or if I am just to dumb to figure it out on my own. It's just something that bugs me to death.

Ah, ha. I see the confusion: you're mixing up UO Stratics (the website) and Stratics Forums (the forums). The UO Stratics - News - Main is on the subdomain uo.stratics.com. Stratics forums are on the vboards.stratics.com subdomain. Although these sites are integrated with a bridge, they are entirely different. This is why UO Stratics - News - Main does not appear in Stratics Forums' drop down menu.

Here is my suggestion. From UO Stratics - News - Main, when you open one of the dropdown menus, don't left-click on forum links. Instead, right-click on the links and choose to open in a new tab. This will allow you to visit any forums that you are interested in without closing UO Stratics - News - Main.

That big ol' "Stratics Ultima Online" at the top left will take you there from the message boards. It doesn't work from some of the other pages though. I think the Monster section, for example, doesn't work.
It would be nice to have it at the bottom too.

Aye... usually the Stratics Cog in the upper left of the banner will take you back to the main UO-Stratics page (non-forum page).

I keep the Stratics link on the bookmarks toolbar(essentially for refresh). and I Always open each thread in a new tab, so I'm never more than a click away

erm, even with ad blocker on I can see the Stratics header at the top of the page.
Either graphic of the header, the cog at the right or the 'Stratics Ultima Online' logo will take you to the main uo.stratics.com page.

I have ad-block on as well, but I still see the Stratics banner and cog at the top. Did you manually add it to the block it at some point?

Oh wow. I never thought to open in a new window. Thanks for the advice. I didn't realize that I was dealing with two different sites. Gotta love the Stratics News Page, though. It is more user friendly for me in switching between pages.

Oh heck, I sometimes open a "reply" in a new window (or tab, either one, never knew why they have both except maybe for page width). I do this when I'm in one of those heated "I said, you said" debates with Fayled, Martyna, or any number of antagonists that reside here, so as to have instant access to all their folly and to lay the hammer down on their sorry misbegotten heads. And then I say unto them, "Thou shalt regret thine actions!"
