Is there another option to purchase game time for a friend who is in need without having to use his login name and password?

ultimategamecard, which can be purchased from many retail stores, is an option. The last time i used them - the code was emailed. It is, however, more expensive than uogamecodes.

Curiously when I last purchased some six month codes from uogamecodes, two of the six month codes were emailed to me, while one of them was applied directly (i used a different 'prepaid' credit card for the one that was applied directly).

id be mad if they applied it to my account automatically.

This made me chuckle.

6 or 7 months ago I created a shared account with a friend to test the idea of a group vendor account. The idea was to let us both have access to the same vendors. I only trust my own security so I linked it to a seperate email address and went to buy a 3 month game time code to avoid entering personal info for the sub.

I did not see a warning at that time. The code was automatically applied to the account I logged in with... which was the wrong account. I was a little confused, but just tried again logging in with the right account. Bought another code and it applied automatically. Fair enough, I didnt get cheated out of any money or anything so now I know.

The shared vendor idea didnt work out. We did the initial setup but none of us cared to log on and maintain the vendors. Game time runs out and the account closes automatically.

Just this week we decided to try again. I read the warning this time. I re-activated the account for 1 month with a CC and deleted billing info and went online to buy a 6 month code. I used the shared account to log in and everything went well. I checked my newly activated account to see if the 6 month code was applied. It was not. I checked my email to see a I had received a 6 month game code in the mail. It did not automatically apply to my account. I had to edit the account and apply the code manually.

So dont believe everything you read.

I think its just a safety procaustion of some sort, that you need to enter an account name with pw for use of a CC on their site, to make sure they will catch the guy who misused a stolen CC.

FYI if you call EA and purchase the gamecodes over the phone, the rep can/will email you the code.

No I had to activate the account I wanted to apply the code to. Thinking the code would automatically apply when I logged in w/it to gamecodes (gamecodes will not let you log in with an inactive account). But I got a code in the mail instead. I have no idea why. So it is more like gambling.

Except you wont lose your money. At least when I screwed it up the first time, it did apply the game code to my account that had an active monthly sub through my CC. It stopped using my re-occurring sub and started using my gametime code instead. When the gametime code ran out I had to re-activate the account.

It was frustrating but not surprising. It all worked itself out. But like others have said, probably good to pick up the phone and try support if you want to get one in the mail.

Gamecodes site lies...

3 month time, it applies directly to the account you log in with. 6 months gametime, it says it will do that - and then you get mailed the code, which you can apply to any account.

I made the silly mistake of buying the EA game cards. How foolish of me to assume they would be like the WOW game time cards.

It took me a few hours to finally find out I have to use another card called ultimate game card.

I didn't want to buy any codes online with my Credit card.
So I'm thinking of getting a toss away visa card [pre-paid one] to put time on my accounts. Instead of having to go through the hoops of going to buy an ulimate card, then through paybycash.

EA could do the smart thing and sell 30 days of game time at the origin store, just like they sell warhammer time there. But like I said, they'd have to be smart.

ultimategamecard isn't available in Britain. Though it is available world wide. Though if you click on the link "playspan", you can buy a ultimategamecard code on line.

I think another option (havent tried it yet) is..

* go to ultimategamecards, choose a $20 card (or any other value)
* pay with paypal
* go to PayByCash - Ultima Online™ Game Codes , choose 30 days game code ($16.59)
* pay it using ultimategamecard (for some reason, there is a $2.60 discount using this payment method)
* $13.99 will get discounted from your ultimategamecard. (FYI 16.59 - 2.60 = 13.99)
