The issue I have is that even with the sale things are priced at crazy prices. Name change $20? Please - that is like 5 lines of code to implement that and they want $20/pop? Try $5.MmKay
So, we got folks griping (surprise, surprise) that the discount on long term game time is not all that great. Just thought I'd step in and point out that the majority of items offered are discount by 25 to 35 percent with some notable 50 percent and one close to 60 percent discounts. The sixmonth gametime code at 54.99 also represents a 40 percent discount off month to month sub fees. So, there!
Char xfer shouldn't be more than $10. In fact NO game store item should be more than $10.
I would NEVER spend $20 on name change or gender change. Thats just crazy.
The sales prices sure seem like a sign of desperation from the dev team to squeeze more money out of a dying game.
They have no real strategy to get new players in game. For all the 'New haven' with new quests and crap. Its still way too steep a road for new players and your characters start with absolutely nothing. I mean, give players an all 50's resist suit or something.
There isn't a smith/tailor left in the game that sells GM armor suits anymore. Not worth the time even if there were players to buy them.
If this game is going to grow you need:
1 - Strategy for attracting new players
2 - Easier way to shorten the learning curve
3 - New content for existing players to engage them - dungeons to expore, etc.
4 - Something for the PvP crowd. Faction 'revamp' has not been sustaining. What about kill charts, ladders, titles etc?
It is really really scary how deserted this game has become.
