Let the online pandemonium begin!

BioWare Mythic has summoned all former Ultima Online, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and Dark Age of Camelot players to join the Return of the Legends Re-Enlistment Celebration, beginning today, September 28. Returning legends will receive a hero’s welcome with free game time, bonuses, and events for the former players returning to the lands of Britannia, The Old World and Camelot.

Ultima Online’s 14-Day Return to Britannia re-enlistment campaign will be available from September 28 through October 11.

As part of the Return of the Legends celebration, the brand new expansion, Ultima Online: High Seas is being launched on October 12. All returning players will be able to play on the High Seas Beta Test Shard to get a taste of ship to ship combat and piracy on the Sosarian seas.

Ultima Online: High Seas can be purchased from the EA Store at: http://eastore.ea.com/through the account registration page or UOGAMECODES.COM. All players will be able to benefit from enhanced boat movement system and ship mouse control for free.

I hope people with old accounts got sent an email with a promotional screenshot of the new boats and wars in action along with a huge 'JOIN THE BETA FOR 14 DAYS FREE' button.

Don't take them to the account page, Take them to the client download and tell them they simply need to log in their old account details.

Would help if new characters were logged into the market town too, But thats asking too much.

It would be a miracle if the booster was ready by November 12th. Way to shove yet another unfinished piece of software out the door... So how long will the booster remain in Beta after we've paid for it?

So... the Expansion goes from Pre-Alpha to Beta in a month... and from Beta to Release in 2 weeks.

This is not what I would call one of Mythic's more "brilliant" maneuvers, given that being a passenger on a new "smooth sailing" ship is not what I would call the least jarring of experiences.

My skill in Faith has dropped by 1.0.

nothing at all, i noticed a post about it on facebook, but nothing mentioning anything about free log in ect, i just took a chance a few minutes ago and logged in, no bonus's ect that i notice, i quit about 4 months ago and was going to re activate in about a week lol

Honestly ... i did not even now were were getting a high sea expansion until today???? ......wow.........13 years and we still get expansions.... awesome.....hell i've played 11 years and cant bloody sail!!!...guess i need to go to sailing school pretty quick!!

er, November 12th of what year? Folks wonder why I'm just not all that excited about the booster ... it's this seeming "rush to gold" crud EA is always doing.

Get incomplete updates out and never finalize the holes in them. Example - EC and KR before that. Holes in AoS took how long to get handled? SE? We have issues with SA that are hanging around.

I just dropped a small house I placed during the first Welcome Back To Britannia that I noticed was still up. A house next door could upgrade to a larger house if they actually still played. Most of the empty spots in Makoto have been filled up with plots in the past few hours. Anyone want to wager they didn't fix anything and those will be around forever? Sure it makes shards not look empty, but it royally screws over people in Trammel or Felucca who actually still pay to play and could potentially have that dream castle they've always wanted some day. Oh too bad, there is an empty plot in the way.

Releasing the booster premature and trying to use it as a lure for new players is going to backfire massively.

Pleople want to see UO improved, not continually having things rushed onto the production shards to meet some marketing suit's ideal for Q3 profits.

SA is STILL unfinished: the Devs don't apper to care or acknowledge that fact.

EC is in PERPETUAL beta-limbo: the Devs pretty much blew off the EC at the Town Hall as unimportant, pissing many people off.

They can't even remember to post a "Happy 13th Anniversary" message on the Herald on time. Why are you waiting Cal? Celebrate ON TIME, not a month later so you can roll the booster, anniverasry, and Halloween into one awful publish.

The link to the EA store is not helpful. The page does not reference the promotion. I searched the page and it only brought up SA.

I understand that the expansion is not out yet but the links in your promos should actually be relevant.

Also I have to agree about rushing the release. It does not have to be perfect but it really needs to be at least "pretty good."

I also think the suggestion above about linking to the client DL is dead on. Leading with a form will lose you lots of customers.

Your "crew" puts together a power point presentation for basically a game relaunch targeted to adding new players...

Im not one to rag on you guys (Uo Dev Crew)

But Umm.... yeah, Do you guys want us to just leave? Maybe stop playing?

I mean its been addressed. We have a Half working client that is broken, Our Last Release is in absolute shambles... Lets be honest EC is about the crappiest work that the gaming industry has seen, Our game "play" itself is hanging by a thread,

I mean runescape has almost better graphics...

Fix what is wrong first then freaking move on, Im so angry at the team right now for running this game into the ground repeatedly, Dont get me wrong, you guys have some excellent ideas but ON THE MEASURABLE SCALE on "wrapping" or finishing things up, you guys every time fail..... I mean Fail..... A 12 yr old could of put together a better presentation using SWISH.

Get a freaking Grip CAL.

I, for one, am looking forward to the expansion. Figures!

Nevertheless, I wish many issues (especially concerning the EC and its graphics) would have been fixed beforehand.

Advantage is we are used to it anyway and just surprised when we learn that there are software companies who do it differently.

I know this won't stop most of you, but if they are intent on releasing the booster WAY before it has any right to be DON'T BUY IT. It is that simple.

Send them a message you will not be supporting things that are left broken and not tended to as they should be. If the message of the booster pack is 'we are getting this out the door ASAP' then send them back one that says 'then we don't want your booster packs'.

There is no excuse for the UO team to continually ship things out the door in a perpetually incomplete state.

I can't say I mind the release date. It's not like it is a full-blown expansion pack - more of an over-sized publish... Considering how long publishes normally stay on test center, this seems about right. Hope they are busy polishing things now. :)

At first, I though the chance to have 14 days free to beta test the new expansion, with the opportunity to buy it later was a bit poor, but then I took a look at what was being done to entice the DAoC players back (I used to play DAoC)

•Play with and against Dark Age of Camelot developers in-game as they rampage across the Realms
•Every server gets to join in on the action and interact with a developer

And.....??

Oh - that's it!!

And I found myself saying - we already get EM's and occasionally Dev's in UO fairly regularly...

Compared to what's being offered in DAOC, we here at UO are getting a lot....

Still - both DAoC and UO are the poor relation to WAR, which gets new content, rewards, performance, stability upgrades, etc, etc.....
Shows that Bioware (RIP Mythic) are still following the old guard and hanging their hat on WAR.

I'm sorry to say this, but this " booster system " is a (Bioware/EA) attempt to make extra money every 3 moths from players, for content that they should be giving us on every update.
they realize they have a hand full of people that can’t handle (for lack of staff and money) improving the game, so people can come back to a game that was and could be again the best mmo in the market. Sad

I'm not blaming anybody but the corporations (Bioware/EA) for handling the game this way.
Not the people that work so hard to do all the great things we have.

(EM's and Dev's) <--- they are heroes here

there all about giving guys that haven't played for 5 years perks and carrots to come back, yet the players that currently keep the lights on get no love.

I'm in no hurry to order this without such bonus. Better to sit back and observe how it rolls out.

Can anyone answer the following:

Are either of the new bosses, akin to a champ spawn?

What kind of buffs do the new foods provide?

Can the new ships be used as viable housing on shards where you don't have your main house? (this should so be done for seige)

The new food that is going to be out with booster pack increases ur stats by a %.
And when I log back into Beta I will try and get the names and stats on them for u.
Also with this 14 day free give away, does that meen all IDOC's are refreshed?

This expansion is going to be a trainwreck. Horrible in the making.

I would like to know how much of this expansion was already completed before the real pirates(Cal and Mark) commandeered it and took it to use for their own. They didn't even change the name. rolleyes:

Isn't the house/bank storage enough? ... I find it hard to believe peeps won't buy it for that alone.

And who really cares if it has bugs, the docks will be so full of boats no one will actually be able to enjoy the new content until at least a month after release ;P.
