They also better dang well put out some specific information as to exactly how this "turn house decay back on" should work.they should send that out via email...... maybe that's too much to ask.
This. Can already see those vultures frothing at the mouth just waiting to swoop in and capitalize on others time and efforts.

Not really.- Aye, my take:
As mentioned by Jeff on the twitter, from someone relaying it here: the decay cycle will begin when the Housing Decay is Reactivated.
(which is pretty easy to interpret from the uo.com statement, if you take it literally)
So, pay up you freeloaders; and better get account stuff situated if you have stopped paying due to the latest EA (UO) account payment migration situation.
NO MORE DETAILS ARE NECESSARY AS A SUBSCRIBER, honestly.
(If you feel you require more details then you are simply hoping to PLAY the game more than just play the game..)
And, if a house has been unpaid and long-standing, due to buggy situations, then it will continue to be (again, my simple take on all of this).
---
Why do I think this? - Well, the only thing for sure is that they feel enough time has passed for Housing Decay to be Reactivated.
And, why did they deactivate house decay? Because of the latest EA (UO) account migration.
So, pay up freeloaders and get your account stuff situated ya' holdouts (I have not looked at it at all yet, personally ~holdout?~; my accounts are up to date. I am lucky enough to be able to wait until they feel they have things worked out.. which seems like is EXACTLY what this Housing Decay will be Reactivated announcement is simply about. /mytake).
I'm not playing outside the housing rules here. I'd just like to understand better what is happening and when.- Take it literally (or free+load)...
So,
- Lean towards yes, if you value your house.
- Lean towards yes, as you have 90 days until decay begins.
- Lean towards yes, if your account was active before they deactivated house decay -and- it went inactive after that.
---
- Pretty clear, to me: continue to play freeload roulette or.. pay for that house like you're supposed to.
(Sure, sure, more explicit details would be great to Play with; but wholly unnecessary, at this juncture ~ if you have $100 to keep a house for 30 days out of 90, then you will have $100 to pay to keep the house of concern in existence.. or not. Simple, this one is. I would be a lot happier if the more difficult bugged housing decayed too; I do have a hope, but zero has been suggested to presume that will happen, at this time)
If they're falling, that means we already didn't have that player.This.
I don't get why people are so excited about idocs. It means there's one less active player / paying user of this game. We don't have many of those left.
again unanswered????????????????so once again i ask the same question..
are all of the unused...bugged...come back to brit houses gonna all fall
par say every house that is not on a paid account is going to fall
because that will be wonderfull
bigfall day 2- the sequel
again unanswered????????????????
Have you tweeted Jeff to ask?again unanswered????????????????
None. I pay them $39 a year X2, in addition to the four other accounts I have that are active full-time.UO can use the money..i wonder how much cash they are losing out on this 90 day free housing?
Are you kidding man? C'mon, I like your posts. The UOHerald and Stratics' UO forums exist for a reason. They are the official communication channel to the playerbase. You know, the paying customer. There I've asked him for you. You need to get a twitter account if you want to get direct questions answered as Jeff replies more there than here.
How about, instead, EA puts down a couple of bucks to host its own official forums -- you know, forums like their three other MMOs presently have -- and answer questions there. There I've asked him for you. You need to get a twitter account if you want to get direct questions answered as Jeff replies more there than here.
This case is similar to mine. I have no real reason to keep these accounts open other than the houses. I don't even need the storage space lolNone. I pay them $39 a year X2, in addition to the four other accounts I have that are active full-time.
I don't need those two additional accounts. They don't have any characters developed and the houses on them are not large max-storage houses either. So EA is getting an extra $78 per year from me that they wouldn't otherwise get.
Yeah, no. Merging servers would be detrimental to the game in a "This would kill the game." way.half housog would drop... but hell mrge all shards ith a mega gate....we need to take uo into them 15th year.. most shards ae down to 3-400 plyaers,,,, brig them all together....hell do u want me to do it.. i would find nit very easy to merge ...just ask me.. plzzzzzzzzzzz
It depends on how you handle the merge.Yeah, no. Merging servers would be detrimental to the game in a "This would kill the game." way.
It depends on how you handle the merge.
If people were incented to move to the new server - it would be helpful.
Lets say everyone on the new server would get 800 skill cap. Lets say everyone merging to new server would get 2 years added to account age and 1 soulstone per character transfered.
Lets assume the new server has shard wide vendor search. Lets assume new server has no Luna houses and instead has rentable vendor spots like magincia.
What if you were guaranteed an 18x18 with 5k storage?
Now - how about that shard merge? People would be flocking to move shards esp if it were free and you could bring all your stuff.
Well, it would be interesting if they had a small set of servers - Say East US/Central US/West US. I don't think we need 1 single UO server - but we also don't need 29.lol
sounds good but
i have characters on more than one server with crap, how does this merge lol
not dissing your idea it does sound like a workable merger which game needs
Lets be serious! The empty npc cities, dungeons and player towns did that long ago.Yup, don't think anyone realizes how empty this game will be once they remove inactive houses.
Learn from the past. The beginning of next year coming this summerKai Schober19 Dec 2011 21:23:02 ESTWe expect to have housing decay turned on by the beginning of next year. We are going to start giving everyone a warning, this being the second of several you will see. Please take the necessary steps to secure your house before its turned back on.
2nd of several? Hmmm sounds like there should be a few more warnings first.
Still a few more days til 2012. When they go on I think these boards are going to light up with tons of chatter so it shouldn't sneak by us.
yup guessing its gonna be a stat of the year warning then autumn house drop/clean up.........muahhhhhLearn from the past. The beginning of next year coming this summer![]()
