There is no pause in the cc to switch weapons, equiplastweapon lets you switch between 2 weapons instantly with no gap or pause, which is why I always wondered why people bothered with the create food spell! :party:
+1 The vast majority of my dexxing chars only use two weapons, though I carry four to take advantage of UOA.

HEY!

Don't knock Origin man! I started a char on Origin the SECOND it came online...got myself a Luna house too :party:

Origin was created to be the *live test shard* and I love it!

So far I've noticed that the *your fingers slip!* message while bandage healing happens ALOT...about 95% of the time..whereas before I rarely got that message. I also noticed that once I DO get that message, the heal doesn't heal as much...this is working as intended correct? I have to re-read the patch notes.

I'm currently training chivalry, it's still pretty low :/
According to the patch notes this ISN'T how it's supposed to work...

Healing Skill
•For healers with 80 skill or greater in healing and anatomy, at half the Heal Duration for self heals, healing will attempt to remove poison and bleed effects. This will reduce the amount healed when the heal is finished its normal duration.
•Max Heal Duration Reduced to 8 seconds.
•Slip Damage Now Scales based on Dexterity
•**Faction Bandages do not require the healing skill and so function using the old healing methods.

According to this, reduced healing only happens when you attempt to cure poison or bleed, I was doing neither, I was just having random noob mobs (Skeletons, zombies) hit me and then healing to test the heal duration. It also seems that it takes LONGER to heal, not shorter as stated in the patch notes.

The slip damage I'm assuming won't happen as often if you have high dex? I'll continue to test this further.

Some shard does need to be the guinea pig. Perhaps it is better that it is a shard like Origin with a smaller population in case something really bad happens. Fewer screams if there is a revert, or as the case may be, if there is not a revert.
*shakes head*

No, Tina,

ORIGIN - Ultima Online - Main

For convenience, I quote that link, in part:

A new shard is born -- Origin.
{snip}
A few things you should know about the Origin Shard:
{snip}
• This Shard will be the first to receive most publishes and updates.
It has nothing to do with Origin being a small shard. Rather, such is the purpose the shard was created for.

Hitherto, they had alternated between some of the shards.

They appeared to pay no real attention to size. Pretty often it was LS that got things first, and at the time LS was among the more-populated shards.

Galen, I'm well aware of the fact that Origin has always had a special status.

Perhaps you skimmed over Saint of Killer's post that I was replying to and quoted in its entirety when I said perhaps it is a good thing Origin is a small shard.

In case you missed his post, he said, "Heh, why does Origin always get the first roll out? It's such a dead shard. It's not like many people will test any bugs there." That prompted me to make the reply I did, where I said, "Perhaps it is better that it is a shard like Origin with a smaller population in case something really bad happens."

Capisce?

The notes only state changes, but if you slip while healing your heal is reduced, this has always been the case. The patch notes wouldn't/shouldn't include information we already have about the skill. :p

Also the patch notes indicate that the Max duration has been reduced to 8 seconds, it use to be 11 seconds. Dex effects the heal duration, the higher the Dex the faster you heal. And the slipping should happen less often with high Dex, although we do not know the formula for it, it has to do with the amount of damage you have taken while performing the heal and the amount of Dex you have.

I'll go to Navrey tonight and see how my sampire handles him. I will try using EOO + Perfection compared to using a Spider Slayer. I'll test the latest with CW and see how it works now too. I think I have 61 chiv on that sampire and know I'm going to have to push tactics down from 120 to 100 and chiv from 61 to 81. Not sure if I'll have to adjust further.
One of my chars on Origin is a straight up fencer chiv, has 65 chiv. The new buff icons display the proc chance for consecrate, and 65 chiv gives a 75% chance to proc. For regular stuff the proc shouldn't be that bad, but it's going to suck to solo anything tough in an enclosed space.

Healing is now a lot more viable in PvM for straight dexxers, while leech isn't as viable unless you build up chiv. I'll assume they are working off a +80 or +90 dex formula, but I haven't tested it yet.

Don't the notes state that at 80 chiv you have a 100% chance for consecrate? And after 80 only DI is taken into account? And I don't think anyone has figured out the Dex/healing formula yet, and for some reason Logrus didn't/won't post it.

Yeah, 100% at 80 chiv for consecrate proc. All my chars are 70 chiv right now, not sure what that'll be under weighted system (only tested the first version on Test). Notes say ~50% at 50 chiv, so if it was exactly 50% then I assume 70 chiv would be around 83.33%. Not bad for a casual sampire.

I have 60 chiv and other than consecrate weapon and the divine fury stam refresh, everything worked as before. Good enough.
