Why don't you name a few things you like? Maybe the dev team can kill those in the next few patches.

Its nice to have a new dungeon and new quest/things to do but....

1 - Quest to get into Abyss/Underworld was borked. Didn't anyone see that robe camping comming?
2 - Imbuing... Most boring skill of ALL TIME to train. Its even worse than poisoning.
3 - Soul forges craftable at 75 but needing an ingredient that requires 95 to unravel. DUH.
4 - Iron Beetles that are tameable but with essentially no purpose as they require taming to own. Oops. What intern went back to school and didn't finish that job?
5 - Not all mysticism scrolls drop from monsters. Oops. Was that the same intern?
6 - Gargoyle only weapons? WTF? Why not Elf only and human only too?
7 - Item durability loss upped so high you can't complete a single spawn without needing repairs on your blade. Thats really fun devs. As much as I like crafting - you are making the game ALL about the weapons/repairs/imbuing/armor.
8 - 10k loyalty for a crafter with imbue to use the queen soulforge? Really? Thats one hell of alot of 15pt quests. Don't tell me to turn my crafter into a fighter.
9 - No moongate to the new lands? Awesome. I'm sure any new players making gargoyles loved being stranded in Tel Mur for a day.
10 - Don't forget shard crashes when completing a certain quest and all the items that were lost the first day.

etc....

I agree its been nice to have an expansion - but its been pretty darn frustrating and the first patch out since is not inspiring confidence.

Back to mind numbing imbuing training before they make it even worse.
while i agree with all of these most are minor problems..
the camping of the cloaks? who is going to buy one anyway??
i trained up to 100, its very expensive.. but i hope they dont kill the skill and waste my time and gold.
soulforges, yeah that was crazy but they still really easy to make.. and hard to sell too, lol.

not all sw scrolls drop either.. 2 need quests.. besides thats more to expand later.

#7 your right.. durability decay needs to be cut down to 1/3 or 1/4. its way too high right now..

#8 bothers me as well.. my crafter has only 40 magery to recall around with :(

Well, some of the changes are what people asked for. People whined and whined about Tyball, not realizing that it'd sort itself out, and the devs listened -- they were just a little slow to implement the solution that was asked for (which woulddhave sucked even if they had done it fast). People were pancakes that imbuing was too easy (there's a whole thread devoted to how it isn't hard enough because people were able to max it in 2 days). You get what you ask for, although what I'd ask for is a game where devs have enough discretion to ignore whinefests that are detrimental to the game.

Oh how very nice...

Campers got tons of robes & keys. Your change is everyone gets key, but harder to kill Tyball and less robes drop. Amazing...

Players mass killed acid slugs to get points for house places to sell. Now that these players have already gotten spots you change the acids. Amazing...

Some very clever players have already gotten to 120 in Imbueing. So you make it harder? Amazing...

Way to go team, reward those who do not exactly play fair. Be sure to burn something up as you do. :(

Oh and ty so much for the anniversary. I have no faith, you all take one step forward and twenty back. Cute graphics just do not make up for this. Not anymore.

I agree with your complaints but really, nothing can be perfect, the expansion was really good regardless.

Theo I agree with your complaints too, but I really am still enjoying this expansion more so than the last bunch... guess it's just me lol.

No surprise there. I got on Origin and didn't notice any difference at all in the residue cost. Anyone else know what that line means?
Oki, my best guess:
This is because if you did the 'make it, imbue it, unravel it' route at the low end it was possible to end up with considerably more residue than you started with.
I didn't consider it that much of an advantage, since you'd need all the residue you could get when you got beyond the stage of being able to imbue a single property requiring a single residue.

If people used slugs at 1 point per to raise loyalty they really missed out.

As an elf I went from 0 to 10k in about 2 hours killing raptors with my GD. lol It was a cake walk, especially since each raptor spawns 1-2 extras and they give about 20-25 loyalty per?

:d

Edit: My Greater dragon dropped them faster than I could target the next and tell it to kill it too... lol

I hope the changes to scrolls mean that things like fire demons, pit fiends, skeletal liches, and the other tier 3 mini spawns also drop scrolls. Being Spawn only was really lame, especially for players who play at odd times. :/

I think the changes already went into effect. Imbuing just got a lot more expensive to train. Can no longer unravel oak bows for residue...
Went to test center and tried to unravil Small platemail Jingasa, will not let you.
Understand that Oak bows with 40 luck and 45 DI is only giving 1 now on Origin.

Test center 15% LRC is still 3 Magical Residue and 7 amber same on Origin (post patch) and Baja (pre patch).
Test center luck 19 is still 1 Magical Residue and 1 citrine same on Origin (post patch) and Baja (pre patch).

Also checked Test Center and Baja for succes %, both are 75.1 at the smith shop with Imbuing at 98.3.

Looks like they just reduced the amount of resources you get from GM bows and droped GM made Small platemail Jingasa giving resources. Not sure if they changed loot.

Back to making Small platemail Jingasa on Baja before the patch.

Test Center is a good place to go before you panic.

While I don't think that the default UI for Imbuing is terribly friendly, there's a UOA macro in the Crafter's forum that will imbue items with a single keypress. With a little modification, it can be made to imbue the same item up to 10 times and then unravel it, all with a single keypress.
yea thats really great! so i have to pay for a game and then i have to pay for a tool to play the game to not have great disadvantages?

NO! The 5 Person i know at 120 Imbuing after 2-3 days cant have gathered all the stuff to unravel for imbuing and hundreds of the extreme cheap low-end runics before SA got life! BECAUSE: that would have been against the NDA!!!!!!!!!!! :twak:

most of the stuff you got told about how to train imbuing is lol. example at 70 go to add a 3rd prop at 90 u must add 4th prop.. or stuff like that.(by adding 3 mods manualy each single item you would have clicked yourself to death!) you simply needed to buy out all runics and example: on 70 imbue dull runic crafted stuff (ONLY 1 aditional Mod - so only 3 clicks)! and on 90 shadow runic crafted stuff and so on!
btw price 1 month before sa on my shard: dull runic 50-100 shadow runic 1k-2k NOW(and confusingly ;)some weeks before sa) IF AVAILABLE: dull 29k shadow 59k) rofl

Would have been against the NDA?

As far as I know, NDA's just say you can't share the knowledge with others. Unless the NDA specifically said they weren't allowed to start gathering imbuing mats, then it probably wasn't against the NDA.

If they did it quietly, and didn't leak any info, I doubt they broke any NDA. They couldn't have gathered all the mats though, seeing as how some are drops aren't they? Or are the drops only for high end imbuing?

Wrong!

It was common knowledge that runics would be useful for imbuing resources. Plus the NDA was lifted weeks ago for open beta which everyone had the chance to participate in.

It funny how others are bitter that some people manage to prepare for, and work hard at something, and then were success full at it.

In general the skill itself is not becoming harder, just the bugs for obtaining resources are being taken care of. Oak bows and exceptional mage armor are not the only ways of obtaining residue.

After running out of my stockpile of thing for unraveling, I collected most of mine by exploring and hunting in the new areas with an unravel bag at my side to collect items for my imbuer.

My tamer doesn't go anywhere without an unravel bag. Usually around 40 or so items she gets heavy with that and gold and has to drop off and swap out for a new bag.

I'm actually getting a lot pickier about what I'm tossing in there, since I'm so low on essences. It means I can stay in the abyss longer and get more of those really cute looking puffy imbuing ingredients. You know, the different colored cloud thingies. :p I just love those things! I might use them for perches for displaying monster statues or something, I haven't decided yet. I also like the crusty fire ones from the lava elementals. I have no idea what this stuff is used for specifically (something imbuing I'm sure of), but I have great deco plans for some of it!

I have managed to gather over 4000 essence and a few relic frags by doing that. Kinda scared where the relics came from as I wasn't checking some items as well as I should...and I cant seem to find the raptors claw I got

Like you mentioned the real imbuing ingredients come from out exploring, fighting, and doing quests.
And I am not sure what seared fire ant goo does...But it looks great under a honeypot next to my beehive :D

The only problem is that now the Devs are changing the game because a couple of people have been stashing stuff to unravel for several months and decided to play the game without sleep so they wouldn't lose any time. These couple of people have now unwittingly caused Imbuing to be harder because the Devs decided to listen to a few whiney ass waffles here in UHall, that were nothing more than simply jealous that someone beat them to the punch.

Yeah, great decision making system you've got there EA. No wonder so much crap is ****ed up. :twak:

I don't speak greek or german lol. I guess the closest I could come to describing it would be a couple of prissy 7 yr old girls that whine and cry to their rich daddy because someone has something they don't, so they pitch a fit until they get their way. Maybe one of the other Europa players could help you out with a closer translation. Outside of Spanish, I only know a couple of German cuss words/sayings, and neither of them fits here.

I wouldn't worry to much about an increase in difficulty to train.
I have been playing with it since the changes and so far I can see no difference in training, just that they got rid of a few bugs to get residue.
You can no longer unravel exceptional samurai armor with mage armor to get residue. I have not tried to unravel anything from oak yet.

Unraveling non runic crafted items for MR. See that's the why not to run beta. Nothing is learned till the new is launched from the honest players that never seem to get onto the testing. Another example of how the good-O-boy system works.

Like falling off the bridge. How the hell something that simple get missed after all that time we waited.

Nice going though. Like making a war movie and hiring an ex army cook for all the good hardcore facts needed to keep the movie correct.

Excuse me? I'm sorry, but the majority of the people in the beta were all "honest players" that worked their butts off testing everything they could. I think it's a pretty **** poor attitude on your part to assume that everyone in a beta is some dishonest scripter/duper/whatever that is only in it for themselves. That sounds more like jealousy than it does concern.

Either way, you're way the hell off base and owe every Honest Player an apology. Nice to see that UO players don't discriminate....oh....wait....... :twak:

Let me think. I was in the beta as well.

My imbuer on Sonoma is at 40. Made her a gargoyle last night after spending many many many hours hunting up pieces of meddable gargoyle armor with LRC on it. Wasted a good hour or two messing around with trying to alter existing pieces and wondering if I was delusional when certain types of crafted iron metal pieces would alter one minute but not the next.

My imbuer on Baja is at 50 because I made her yesterday and had the brilliant idea to run her semi-naked through the Tomb of Kings, the Abyss, and the Underworld. Of course she died and rezzing her at the Font of Fortune confirmed that yes indeed it does rez you but when you're only wearing a death robe and have 60 strength, even if you can fly, you're doomed to die to those goblins and spiders. Had no time to keep returning to the Fountain over and over again to enjoy playing with the "do you want to rez now" gump. So I finally ran her out to the beach and parked her there after I realized that in my brilliance I'd forgotten computer #2 is out of commission and she's STUCK THERE for now. Oh well she can wait a week in ghost form and by then her pack animal purchased and fed in Ter Mur will be bonded and maybe I'll have rounded up some gargoyle LRC pieces to cloth her in because arcane stuff won't work and who wants to carry regs when you only have 60 strength and imbuing stuff weighs a ton and a half and you can't log out with a loaded unmounted pack animal. Maybe. Gotta do the quest to enter the Abyss on Baja with at least one character besides the newb gargoyle artificer. Silly details I overlooked.

And last but not least my artificer on Lake Austin. Woot!! 56 Imbuing! I'm flying now!!! So many trips to unravel bags of goodies rounded up by the tamer. And finally turned on the lightbulb and said, "Artificer takes the stuff to Axem, not the silly tamer that's almost a noble." Yeah, she'll hit 120 Imbuing some day. Will it be in 2009? Who knows.

Yeah, I'm one of those beta testers that was SUPER-PREPARED to do imbuing.

I tried imbuing in the last week or so of beta testing. Just long enough to kind of have an idea of what it will do. Read about it months ago and said, "Hey all that junk you thought you'd get rid of? Save it! All that time spent paying to store a bazillion pieces of junk thinking it might be useful some day may have finally paid off." And where is all that useless junk now? Sitting in houses on Baja and GL. The Baja artificer is out of commission for a week. The GL artificer? Ummm........gad I have to shuffle skills and make room for one.

Yup, I'm prepared all right.

Prepared for more coffee, I think. Haven't typed enough run-on sentences yet today. Gotta meet my quota.

Did they even think to test something this minor, prob not. Testers were busy testing things the Devs wanted tested. Can you test everything, no. Bugs happen.

Devs to testers, lets make everything in the game and then unravil it to see what happens. This is a very minor thing when you look at the time and the amount of things that needed testing first. We got a freebie for what 10 days and this was posted on the forums by players so everybody had a chance to do this.

All of mine that were "a decorative plant" now cut up correctly, but I still have quite a few that are labelled "A decorative black plant" (numerous colors, just replace "black" with other colors like "Rare Fire Red" The common factor seems to be that they end in "plant" rather than the specific plant name.
