Thank You very much for this info. I had placed statues of a real life friend that played that had passed away a few months ago to place statues with his char to remember him by. I really didn't want to reactivate his account just to replace them.
Didn't the veteran rewards statues just pop in one's own backpack when claiming them ?
It has been a while now since I claimed one but I do not seem to remember them coming as a deed, I picked my choice of a statue and it appeared.
Or do I remember wrong ?
it's not the monster statues, it's the player statues made with the statue maker vet reward.

How hard is it to look for a character statue that only had the bottom platform and no character standing on it?

I think the bottom platform is now available separately as a puzzle reward???
If so, then it would be extremely difficult to tell which was which now wouldn't it?

I wish I had seen a statue. 
Naturally, it's not funny for someone to lose theirs, but I still would have liked to have seen just one. Maybe the devs will add marble men/women to the game at some point and when you kill them, you get some marble as loot like when killing elementals. The marble could be added as a crafting resource.

I think EA/Mythic is missing a great RP opportunity here. Perhaps make it so we could create an army of these, each retaining the properties of the person who created it, and they could be used in PvP, or some other way. A bit of creative thinking and this could be an interesting "accident."

Has there been info from the Devs, just curious as to whether or not the shards will have to be brought down to fix this. Would like to start customizing

If this was no bug that caused the loss of a "valuable" item, it would actually be cool! Imagine stone statues come to life on Halloween, attacking players. I wish UO had more surprises like these, only deliberate....
Dev's are on the case to squash the bug.

and the SA Base Color stone table color....How is that hard to figure out what had a character statue? Also if you double click the base it shows when it was created.
