[Discussion] Unsung Heroes of the Rares Community

Sometimes there are collectors, traders, buyers, and sellers who pretty much keep to themselves, but in small ways contribute positively to the Rares Community. They may not be that active in the game, or might not seek the limelight. Over the years I have taken note of these special individuals. Maybe they gave me a free transfer, perhaps a good deal on a rare, or just good conversations in a time when I could really use a friend. I am creating this thread for those who want to recognize these players by simply thanking them, and to perhaps highlight their achievements. It might provide an excellent reference to new collectors who don't know anyone, and don't know who they can trust. For the most part, the vast majority of the Ultima Online community cares about this game, their reputation and enjoys giving back. I am very grateful to be apart of it.

To start I'd like to thank @Legendary Rick for replacing some stolen rares he was transferring for me and a friend, and compensating us for our losses. Thank you for doing your best under the worse stress!

Thank you for those comments, and yes i changed my names so people know who i am more in game by my real name. I used to go by @smurf here but has the awsome people who run this site help me to change it, thank you again for that as well. But yea i will always replace items that don't belong to me, that I promise to take care off. I would also say same about Nails, whenever you have ever done Xfers for me or any trades i have never once had an issue, last night was just ****ty situations and sucks that our close community has thief's that take advantage of peoples stupid mistakes when they are tired, and thrive on BS like that, our community would be better off without the hatred and people like that.

I would like to add @Bucs Den Inc. to this list of awesome and helpful people. I constantly see him volunteering to help others with various things on Atlantic, and he has always been an extremely trustworthy and reliable friend.

When the phoenix ticket glitch happened a year or two ago, myself and a few others lost our phoenix tickets, which were worth about 600m each at the time and were very difficult to find. Bucs happened to have some in his possession that he had collected, and he immediately offerred to give me and someone else a free phoenix ticket to replace the ones we had lost after he heard about what happened, despite the fact that he had also lost a few tickets because of the same glitch.

That was one of the most generous things I've seen someone in the rares community do, and shows what a spectacular person he is.

I know these guys are not 'unlnowns' or 'little knowns' in the rares community I would still like to publicly thank them for taking the time to help a new person in rares community. @Pampa DH has been really nice in helping me get Napa items and he sold me a 1of3 Napa rose when he really didn't have to, and I appreciate his help overall. @Nails Warstein for always being around to answer questions or even to chat for a bit, always a pleasure to talk to. Olcher for patience while we barter the best prices. LEET for being as available as he has an with being as generous as he has.I know I have left other people out but I appreciate everyone in the rares community for helping, understanding and patience in dealing with a newcomer.

I do have to blame @MadMartyr for getting me involved in the rares community though, the *******. But thanks to him I have also gotten deeper into UO than I would normally do.

Also, after i got robbed yesterday after the Chessy event for items i was xfering for my friends: @Nails Warstein (which i found out later he had @panoramix2009 items as well), there was also @Twistas' items in there, im not sure his stratics names but he is the GM of Cartel and has always been a loyal friend, done safe transfers for me and been a great guy who taught me about events and sort of got me started collecting rares and enjoying this part of the game. So I had lost 2 of his lances and 1 shield as well, and he said and I quote "I am a bit pist, but don't worry you don't owe me anything bro, its all good" and this was after i had offered way I can repay him, which was prob one of the most if not most generous offer i got from someone in this game. Although as most of my friends know with me its the thought that counts with me, and i don't like handouts or knowing that people think they cant trust me so Im still going to repay him for the item lost. But just wanted to mention for someone who also lost 1p of rares just like @Nails Warstein did and said "i didnt need to pay back for it", cause they know my heart was in the right place, that type of generosity goes a long way in this game, especially with me. People like that have always been "Unsung Heros" to me in my heart and I always reciprocate in same fashion. Ty All in a bad time for me for being good ppls!

I'd like to thank the small army of people that locates items for my .... unique collection of items, without judging and with a little laughter. I would call them out but not sure if they would like that or not. lol Anyway I really appreciate it!

I'd like to thank the group of people that I do events with. You guys and gals are quite simply awesome. Were it not for falling in with you guys I probably would have stopped playing UO again. Your knowledge of the game and willingness to help others is unparalleled.

I'd like to thank Mesanna and their staff for giving us a game that brings us all together and gives us something to do.

I would also like to thank our armed forces for their service!

Wow so many people to thank about the Game that We have, but I have to agree that on the years that we play this game we made a "handful" of people that we like or trust the most.

UWF was my very first Guild and oh Boy those 9pm hunts.... and I am still friend of @Merlin a guy that I respect a lot and I am there for anything he may need!

Ofc, I cant list everybody here but names like @jrede23 , @Legendary Rick , @Nails Warstein , @UNKNOWN of Atlantic , @Pampa DH , @Longtooths , and@Decadence , I wish I could Thank my friend Kiss of Death (Blaze Inferno) as well and AEKO and soooo many more, all I have to say is , we appreciate everybodys support to keep this game alive!!, Specially the DEV TEAM, because No matter if you like them or not, We are Only here because of them!!

I would like to join the loving feeling here. I am not a long time, well known collector, more a wierdo that has a passion for pixels (in a none perverse way, i think) and have been striving to complete my collection for my own little world i have been creating during my time in UO.

During my time i have come across many traders, collectors, enthusiasts and helpful people. Sometimes as i am an unknown i may get brushed aside, or maybe seen as a opportunity to sell to at a far to high price, but for the most part, the community in rares have been really helpful and honest.. I for one would like to thank them all, but i would like to thank a certain few even more who have always been helpful to me.

@Nails Warstein - He puts up with all my questions, no matter how often and how repetitive they are. He hasn't brushed me aside even once, and has always been there to help out. I think i owe him more than i owe anyone in this game, and i am extremely grateful for all his help.
@Legendary Rick - Has been honest with me from the start, always happy to trade and always happy to talk through potential items. i wouldn't have as great a collection if it wasn't for him
@Zandor - He has helped me source so many of my sort after rares for no gain himself.
@Archnight - Always helping me out with honesty and making sure people arent taking me for a ride, or helping me out with selling on stratics when i mess up my posting.

Like i say, as a whole the Rares community has been great, these people ive listed, the people others have listed above and even more so. @Smoot , @MrUber , @Pampa DH , @BrianFreud and my buddy @PoundCake who helped me buy some of my favourite items and gave me tips.

All you people make the Rares community what it is.

I'll mention @Cloth Road, @blend, @Pampa DH, @Nails Warstein, @S_S, @Adeka, @Princess Zora, @Larisa, @MissEcho, @Manticore, @DevilsOwn, and god knows how many others for their help tracking down rares, to collect info for the wiki. @Scribbles for his help transferring to rares fests. @blend for his many rares fests. @blend, @Archnight, @Restless, @Larisa, @DJAd, and @Kincsem for their help adding and editing rares in the wiki. Plus @MissEcho, @Poo, and @Ru TnT for their help editing over in the Hunter's Guide section of the wiki.

As an aside, since we're in the last part of the month, when new drops typically happen, let me just mention This Month's EM Items - Stratics Community Wiki | Stratics Community Forums again. Normally, it's been @blend, @Kincsem, and myself who've tried to make sure no new EM items missed being added.Last month, @Restless added nearly all of May's drops singlehandedly. This month, it'd be really nice to see everyone chip in and add any new drops as they happen; if you have the item in your pack, it literally takes all of a minute or two to make sure that item gets documented for the rest of eternity.

This is way late guys, but I would like to thank @Laina, @Olcher, @AtlanticRealtor, @Scribbles, @Nails Warstein, and @Smoot individually for their auctions and knowledge at various times... without you guys I would not have a lot of my rare items and my themed house wouldn't match quite as well as it does! I would also like to thank @Assia Penryn for her help with my blackrock collection... not many know this but I have been collecting those for 3-4 years. I would like to thank @ivester77 for chatting with me at Raresfest and loving the Rock and the WWF. Thank you too @Captn Norrington, @Archnight, @DreadLord Lestat, and the rest of Stratics for supporting UO.

And most definitely I would like to thank @BrianFreud for his incredible auction efforts, where my wife and I both have gotten tons of stuff! Epic-ness Brian... thanks man. Also I would like to thank @panoramix2009 , @THP, and again BrianFreud for their transfers lately and in the past. It helps us who spend all of our millions on pixel deco... more than you know.
