[Imbuing] Unraveling - Let me get this straight

For skill gain purposes, is it best to NOT be a gargoyle, and NOT use the public/queens forge and instead use your soulforge at home?

At the queens forge, I just unraveled a bag of 42 items which normally give skill gain at the public forge. I didn't even gain .1. Wondering if the Queens forge + Gargoyle made it too easy so I gained nothing. I'm at 61 imbuing.

The other thing is just how much loyalty do you need to use queens forge anyway. I see everyone saying 10K, but I only have 5k, and it didnt' tell me I couldn't do it, and successfully unraveled items into essence and residues. Does anyone know for SURE, or are you just assuming max loyalty?

... or possible Stealth enhancement from the last patch to allow us to use the Queen's forge earlier?

Thanks

for the first question, yes.

Not sure why you didn't gain on the unravel. could just be bad luck, or you might have gotten to where the items you craft no longer give gains.

Lastly, is it possible you can unravel at the Queen's forge at any level, but just can't CRAFT at it until 10k loyalty? anyone want to test?

Hi Basara

My little garg imbuer put a soulforge up at his house and seems to be gaining again. I might make a hummie and stone imbuing to it to train. I'm not at the level to get Relics anyway so being a garg just slows my gains.

Lastly regarding the forge, I went there and attempted to modify a +13 taming, 5 LRC ring I had. I have newbie 64.x skill in imbuing.

At my home soulforge, I had 0.0% chance
At the public, I had 1.2%
At the Queens forge it said I had to rise to noble first.

So while you can unravel at the queens forge with at least 5000 loyalty (possibly less), you cannot imbue there.

I wouldn't think you'd want to unravel there anyway, if you're looking for gains. And if you were looking for Relics, you'd want to be a garg imbuer at the queens forge with 10k loyalty.

Is the little soulforge in the Ter Mur blacksmith shop considered the same as the public soulforge just outside (which gives a bonus), or a personal soulforge like in a player's home? I've been occassionally using this to craft and unravel at the sametime, but maybe I should be moving outside the shop to do the unravelling.

BTW, I have been doing most of my imbuing training at a public house in Luna on Atlanic. I'm past 110 imbuing now and it seems to be working great on my human crafter. I've let the target chance raise from 50 to 60 and that seems to be working better. You only gain on successful tries. I was failing too much at 50 for my sanity and my gains log seems to indicate 60 is working better for me too.

The forge in the smithy off of the square is not the same as the forge in the square. Instead of a bonus, I believe that it applies a penalty (depending on where you view the base point to be). I am in the process of doing some testing, but I believe that the order of success bonus for soulforges is as follows:

Queens Forge
TM Town Square Forge (I call it TM1)
Player Crafted Forge
The Forge in the smithy off of the square (I call it TM2)

I am currently doing some testing and algebra to come up with the relative bonuses and I will post it up when I figure it out.

Is anyone aware of a forge placed in another town location?
