unraveling amounts messed up

Ok maybe I am missing something but I am making bokuto's out of oak
and when I unravel them I (and keep in mind they are identical and all exceptional) get 1,2 or 3 residue ! should they not always be the same ?

nope, durability is a factor.. 40s 1 residue, 60s 2, 100+ 3

thats what i been finding..
