A little history:

Whispering roses were a gift for Valentine's Day in 2000. Trammel was introduced in May 2000.

Why is this significant? Because pre-Trammel, the title of "Lord" was pretty much the same as painting a target over your head saying "PK me!" In addition to that, gaining the title of Lord or Lady took a lot more effort than it does today, when you can gain the titles by accident. That means that the title of Lord, while not exactly rare, was certainly uncommon. In fact, there were many players (like me) who would go out of their way to avoid having a "Lord" title.

Although, I would have suspected more "Lord" roses than none in hundreds of roses.

I remember when I was one of the 3 Lords on Atlantic.

Now it seems everyone is a Lord or Lady!

Now I don't know about the game's time frames and when new things came out and when, but I do know that when I started, I started playing in Haven with a pally, so that was after Trammel, but I do have a whispering rose also, so I don't see how getting the roses pre Trammel would be possible??

Are you sure it's a whispering rose? It could be an AoS rose...

yes, it was..... sorry for not double checking before I posted, but on a side note, it seems like everyone is really up to date on this forum, so I'm sure they all knew what it actually was. :(

Not necessarily. It could have been you managed to just pick up one with your name on it along the way too. I've seen weirder things happen. A friend of mine just recently changed her name, and when I was cross-sharding the following week I managed to find a pair of AoS sandals with her new name on it. Needless to say I picked it up. :lick:
