unable to reach knight of honor

OK, I'm aware of all the factors supposedly involved in gaining Honor. I'm up to my last dot. Using a mage I have been honoring Thrasher and letting it attack me first. Then using only direct damage spells and never moving I have been killing it. I gain in honor each and every time.

Here's the problem. I gained 5 times the other day and got no dot. Today I gained 24 times and still cannot get that last dot.

Anyone know of any changes to honor?

I haven't heard of any changes to honor. I frequently use my samurai paladin to kill thrasher and gain the last point in honor. I know it's possible as this is my preferred method of reaching knight of honor.

What I can say is it takes A LOT of thrashers to finally achieve knight of honor. That final point seems to take a very long time to get in comparison. I cannot say how long it takes for certain as thrasher respawns quickly and I haven't noticed the exact time frame.

I have gained knight off of Thrasher on most of my characters. It takes several hours to get the last dot off of thrasher and he is still by far the quickest to gain it off of.

Hmmm ... well
no notified changes to either Honor or thrasher that I can find in any release/publish notes

and as you are a credited authority on thrasher

it would seem that an examination of the mechanics of Honor are all that is left to reveiw.

Have you recently died DURING this recent marathon? for a character reset of any invisible attributes

personally, "ranged attacks" by mages, do not fit >my< interpretation of honorable, however
have you tried a "killing stroke" with some spell channeling weapon? (might not "register" AS honorable ... thrash took prior damage at distance)
There IS a "clear path"? (talking straightline, no walk arounds)

Assuming you are solo, are you SURE that someone is not stealth harrassing? ((honors mob, hides and giggles))

BECAUSE you are likely solo(nooooo one else around)
Do you know of >any one MAGE< gaining dots from thrasher >currently< ?
(would indicate an actual software glitch, global/individual)

Is there any other mob that you can handle AND gain from?
I would suggest trying a marathon on that/them ...

I think its just down to kill a lot of them, 22400 fame points, succubus 24k and balrons also 24k is where ive got my knighthood, either using a tamer which should be very negative or using a mage with evs end moving around a lot which is about as negative as you can get.

Then if i remember rigth it was like 8-9 or maybe 10 to get last dot. Could have been the double though aswell. Never using my honor and since it never decays im fine with it.

Having been stuck on tier 2 of honor for so long its not funny... could it just be bugged? i am trying to get it on my main toon a tamer. He has gotten all the way to the end of tier 2 and cant get the next dot.. honored and fought for 5 hours.. no gains.

I know you lose 'some' if you move, any idea how much? and if you/it moves, does it matter how far or how long? or just the fact that there was movement to trigger the penality?

There's an occasional bug where you don't get the Honor Gained message after a kill; however as mentioned, that last dot takes a lot of killing to get when it is working, by my estimation it's around 60 or so Succubi to get it. If they have the same fame as Thrasher then you won't be getting it after 5 of them then.

I can say that for me Honor is at least working, as I did it in Fan Dancer Dojo again yesterday, after Honor taming a 4.0 Greater Dragon. It took about 30 minutes, killing a succubi every minute or so with a Cu Sidhe and Energy Bolt.

Running around, doing direct/indirect damage etc are all from how Honor used to be; not how it currently is and has been for the last year or so that I've been Honor taming. As long as you get the "You have gained in Honor message", you'll gain enough Honor to make it to Level 3 from Balrons/Succubi or anything else at that level what ever you do.

For my tamer I usually use balrons.

To answer some of Fayled's questions, while all spells are technically ranged attacks, I think it hardly applies when you're standing toe to toe taking it and dishing it. As to someone else being here harassing me, I think not. If they were they'd probably be popping dryads or luring Coil or something of that nature. I don't know any other mages that have recently done it. I suppose I could try succubi, but they would probably be slower as I'd probably have to use EVs. Oh, and yes I have died 4 or 5 times in those 29 successes.

As a side note, Thrasher sure seems to be penetrating my armor a lot more than he used to. My deaths were due to his putting together 3 of those shots in a row. 35 points damage on each hit.

I just went and did 6 succubi in the dojo and got the dot. I did those using EVs and did some running around too.

Not answering the question, but just sharing...

Getting Knight of Honour is easily the most useful virtue to gain Knighthood in... but using it up and maintaining it is a pain... just sharing that it's much easier having multiple accounts and using a 2nd account to rez ur dead char on the 1st account.
