Unable to put in a password for the EC at the Log in Screen

Ok I have a friend who has now downloaded the EC two times...

He runs Windows Vista and it lets him put in his log in name but he can NOT put anything in the password bar. It's like it's not there not working.

I'm not sure what he runs for a graphics card but any suggestions would be good.

I've told him to tell his Firewall that the EC is ok and his Anti-virus to allow the EC and the EC patcher. But he still can't put in a password.

I also told him to run the EC as Admin but nothing seems to work.
