Two Accounts Worth It?

So I am a returning playing a month into it and had a question.

I have a home by yew fel gate that just isn't quite big enough. Big enough as in space and storage. I see people with multiple accounts. I have 7 characters on this account and would love to have more.

So my question...

Is it worth it to have & pay for two accounts? For housing and additional characters?

Post what reasons you have two accounts for. Thanks!

I have multiple accounts because I play Siege, where each account only has one character slot. With the advent of soul stones, I have been able to narrow down my collection of accounts from 4 to 2...la

I've just opened my second account (after about 2 years of playing) I think it's well worth it! SO many skills I haven't even tried yet! And now I have two gorgeous houses too ;) (well, gorgeous in theory... they are quite there in practise yet ;))

I have two accounts. :)

I opened a new one when I returned in 2007, and shortly after found some login details for one of my older accounts, and re-opened it.

I enjoy having two for the ability to play with skills, the extra housing, and also easy to support your other account - rezzing pets, switching items, etc.

I would definately say it's worth it. And less $$ a month than dinner and a movie for one, hehe.

|If youre enjoying the game then sure, two accounts is worth it. I used to run 3 accounts but the 3rd was just for the house. The first two were full of well developed characters. I'm down to 1 account again now .. just reopened after a near 2 year absence. You'll find some on these here boards that had over 10 active accounts, although I think many have cut back.

I've had two for ages and its so worth it. I couldn't play uo with a single account now, it would be way too restrictive.

To get the most out of it you need 2 pc's (I have a desktop and my old laptop) so you can have both accounts logged on at the same time. (Or there are other ways, including winXP quick user switching).

I'm thinking of getting a third account now, but most 4 year+ accounts I've seen for sale are too expensive and I'm finding my non-vet second account (8 months old) to be quite annoying so I don't want to open another fresh one....

I've got two accounts and at one point had three. All over 66 months old:eek:

I did that for more than 5 chars as well as a second/third house for other shards.

Things you can do with 2 accounts: res your own pets, guild your own characters, safely redesign a house without risk of catastrophic loss of stuff (well, up to a point, then you need to get another house ... well then another ... honestly I can quit any time I want *twitch* *twitch*)

I have four and that might be a bit much - I'm not short of character concepts, I just find it's taking a long time to train them up. (I don't use soulstones very much even though it would be considerably cheaper to just buy some stones, train everything up then "dress up" a character on demand)

I have two accounts:

When treasure hunting was rewarding: first account logged in the t-hunter and second account logged in a tamer. That was fun!

When you need a rez and you can't find an NPC, log in your own. Make sure you keep a duplicate set of all your rune locations.

Log in a miner and a tamer. Mine up a Shadow Ell and get it working on the pet(s). Log off the miner (or keep mining for that matter!), log on another tamer and train another pet(s) on the Ell. I've trained up to 4 pets at a time. Very efficient!

As someone else said, you really need two computers to make this work.

Besides the ideas already posted, I would like to add one more - Get your girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse started on UO.

Then it won't be a waste :D

Got ya all beat!! but only cause 4 players in one house, we have 9 between us. Some adopted some created, ranging in ages from 9 years to 10 months. My husband and I each have 2 accts with major chars, the kids have 1 each but sometimes use a second, and the last, well ok I'm a house junkie lol

The only reason we have two accounts in our house is that my wife plays too.

It has some advantages, but I only really need one account.

I have had 2 accounts for most of my time playing UO. Currently I have my main account (the same one I created back in 2000 when I bought my first box), and a 2nd newbie account that's pretty much just a house holder. The reason I have 2 is because one has always owned a vendor house, and the other a private residence for storage/training. But recently I decided to place a 2nd vendor house with my second account. Partly because I found a good spot, and partly because I wanted my 2nd (storage) house closer to my vendor house. Both my accounts have 7 character slots, but I have yet to really train any of the newbies on my 2nd account. It seems any new skills I want to try out I just cram onto an established template on my main acct. So at this point I'm paying for a 2nd house, which to me (at least right now) is worth the extra money.

well we have 5 accounts. The only two we do not log in on daily would be the owner of the vendor house and the owner of the THB Lock Picking house, but we do log in on them at least weekly to take care of things that gather up.

To answer your question in the original post I would say that having two accounts will definitely be worth it for you.

The housing storage will be great, and you will have the freedom to start creating more characters which is always fun.

Hi I have 2 accounts for housing, but that is the reason I play UO. I would have 3 if I can get the house next to mine. I only play one character, but my other characters have skills to make most items in game, take care of plants, steal or go fishing.

Right now with my houses, I have 54 lockdowns. All banks are full and backpacks ect, and I havent even got the new plants yet. Most items are my deco items. I had plans for when UO gave us a 100x100 4 story plot, I have all the deco items ready and know how it is going to look. I think that might not happen and need to throw away stuff and learn to be happy with the tiny 18x18s.

Two accounts is well worth it, just for housing and storage. You can have 2 different types of houses with different decos for each one. Plus you get more characters for deco gift items.

I have 2 now, down from 8. My main account has a castle on my home shard, the 2nd account keeps a house on another shard. I tend to move that house around depending on my where I'm at. Right now it's on LS.
