The problem with hooded cloaks is a layerying issue. The paperdoll works on a layering system.
Cloaks can be considered on the very bottom, meaning just about any other graphic (weapons/clothing) lays on top of the cloak graphic and some times at least partially covering the cloak graphic.
The reason Hooded Robes can work is because they are one of top layers. Possibly only behind the weapon and shield layers? Thus this allows the hooded robe graphic to cover some of the face.
There are a couple options that I believe a hooded cloak could work.
- 1 having the hooded graphic be totally separate from the cloak. Possibly taking up the head or robe slot. It could be dyed/made from the same color cloth, so that it can appear to be 1 item.
- have an option of the cloak to make it look like it's draped over the shoulders, blocking any arms/weapons, like you might think someone would do if it were cold out. The issue with this method is that the arms and weapons would need to be blacked out. If you've ever seen a bright bandana(pure white, blaze, glacial) you may have noticed some halo-ing because the hue saturates the supposed blackness surrounding the head.
It's really up to the devs to decide if it's worth it or not. It is an interesting idea. I've thought about it before.
