Turn on 247% and Leave It on - Let it Be Something New and IMPROVED - Something We NEED in This Game

As the title says -- I am asking them to turn on 247% and leave it on, let it be something positive and good we get in this game.

We've had hard-earned money stripped from us, we've been requested to pretend this isn't The Sims Online (even though anybody with a brain who plays the original sims can clearly SEE its Sims.. online), had all sorts of hardships and outages and everything else put on us, harder skill lock gain etc to come in the future, etc etc...

and since you CAN do 247% and especially since once amnesty comes (assuming it ever does) a bunch of us will have a bunch of sims with lots of locks to fill..
so give us 247% skilling and leave it on.

Yep Yep I agree. Take the yolk off little hard skilling sims. Just think it might take 50 hours to max 20 skill bars instead of 80 hours.

I think a 'celebration' marathon of it, say 24-48 RL hours would be nice right after amnesty like you say because of those extra locks, but anything longer than that and it won't be 'special' anymore and players will then be wanting special spikes of 350% or 500% or something. The good 'surprises' in the game is what keep people interested.....logging in on the weekend and going straight to a skill house to see if it's showing 118, 148 or 247. If it stays at 247, what will there be to be 'special' anymore besides the lava lamp mini-games?

Yes except that's not a positive thing, because it dominos....it's like a drug habit...you need higher, and higher skill spikes in order for anything to be *new* and *exciting* anymore.....to get that *rush* feeling again. Weak analogy maybe, but you get the point. If we're not appreciative of what we've got, skill speed and spike-wise, why should they give us anymore? Just because we pay a paltry amount to play the game? Not.

I have 8 characters, right now with only 20 locks. After amnesty they will have nearly 50. I'm skilling my 5th character's 20 locks right now. After amnesty I have to do a full other skill and then some more on all 8 again...

I'd love a 500% skilling day or two...

...or three

I'd devote an entire thread to worshipping the Devs if they did that for me. I'd make a siggy that even said "Have You Hugged YOUR Dev Today?"

Why shouldn't skilling speed be increased? Does anyone have fun sitting in a room with 29 others who rarely talk and the only interation is the host cooking serenading.

I would bet 98% of the population dont have fun while skilling.

But EA does go with the 2% when they make decisions...

im game for the higher skill speed.... i even think they should also bring back the old money payouts for the same time... but i would be more than happy too see a skill speed near 500 for a day or two.....

No it isn't fun...that's why I'd love to see the speed increased....so it would go faster and I could get on with my life.

Instead of asking them to raise the skill speed entirely, I'd like to see them change the skilling process to make it more fun. I am strongly in favor of interactive skilling, ie. skilling where we actually have to DO something to get our skill points, like minigames perhaps. I think it would be fun to see something along the lines of PLAYER SPECIFIC skill speeds. For example, if somebody scores 900 in a minigame, they would have a skilling speed of 250% whereas somebody who scored 500 would have 200%, while the person who didn't play at all has 118%. It would be an incentive to not be afk. We'd be getting rewarded for sitting with our sims, rather than letting them skill while we clean the house, write essays, do geometry homework, and solve global warming.

They SHOULD give us something to look forward to and to have FUN, instead of making this game miserable and frustrating. It doesnt matter how much we pay to play, the fact is we do pay to PLAY and not to spend most of our time banging our heads against a wall trying to make a pitful amount of money or take eons to earn skill points. Stop acting like we owe them something for keeping this game open. They owe us for sticking by while they drive a lot of us crazy with all of the take take take they put us through.

It makes no sense to me to have them raise the skilling when most of the returning have low locks. I would rather them wait for amnesty then turn it on, then we can take full advantage of it.

I can't stand skilling, I teach all my sims and my friends sims so we can fight the gnome war. Much rather make money than skill.

But I think the mini games someone suggested would be fun, always up for competition. Way to use the gray matter!

LOL, great idea about the mini games but how long have we been asking for that. Since Day 1 of the TSO beta when we went in started skilling and said "is that it?"

I totally agree, and have posted ideas in other areas of the forum, and a couple of my thoughts have worked their way to the wiki about group skilling objects and stuff. I would rather see permanent fun/new things added to the game as opposed the current lava lamp and currency name debacles that are going on.

Nobody said anybody has fun when they skill...my point was that skilling is an essential part of the game and one of the main cruxes of the game. My fear is if that is shortened permanently by 2.5x then that means goals will be achieved faster and those who don't have goals to replace those goals will get bored faster. There is always things to do while skilling if you cannot find anybody talking in the room you are in, but maybe the afk epidemic in skilling is more rampant in EA Land than it is in TC3, because its usually only in about 1 house out of 3 that doesn't have a conversation going with a few people in the room involved, and they don't have any problem with anybody chiming in. Once in a blue moon the conversation will be in a foreign language where I couldn't jump in if I wanted to, but during that time I just read the boards, watch a movie, play on Pogo, play TS2, etc.

Like I said I'd love to see a couple days solid of 247%, since I too will have double the amount of locks that I have now at least, but it only takes approximately 20 hours of skilling to skill from 0-20.99 and fill 20 of the 30 extra locks some of us are about to get, at 247% that would mean about 10-15 hours.....that's one playing day for alot of people. I don't see any reason to shorten it any further, or to shorten it that much permanently.

Oooo, thats a great idea! Minigames for skill speed or even for whole points would be a lot more fun than sitting and watching. Usually when I skill, I'm reading a book or on the boards XD I can rarely stand to sit and watch my sim do nothing for long periods of time.

I like your idea! Especially because the way you list it 'those who don't play the games at all would get 118%'....that allows those who HAVE to be afk during skilling to still be able to and not have to sacrifice that playing time. When this has been suggested before, there's never been a provision for those who must afk, those suggesting it have just said 'well, they can just log out'.....but if we start limiting players to only logging in when they can be there 90% of the time and none of the time be semi-afk, that will cut their playing hours significantly and even less people will see it worth their $10 a month than do now. That would be a big mistake. Your system allows for both those that want the afk style skilling and those that don't, so I really like that
