Trouble Creating "Window Garden"

OK, so I am a novice having a bit of trouble here. I am trying to create a "window garden" on my house. The problem is, I have to remove the walls to get the plants on the tiles, but when I put the walls back the plants are removed to my moving crate.

I tried removing the edging and dropping down from the roof, but replacing the edging has the same effect. Here is a picture of what I am trying to do (This is one of Risso's designs from one of the sticky threads).

See the flowers above the door? This is what I am trying to do.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

PS - Anyone seen any good ideas for small (talking 7x7 here) lighthouses? I have both plots on Blanche island and will probably try making a lighthouse for one. Thanks!

Items that interfere with custom parts of the house (walls, roof, stairwells) get shoved in the crate when that happens. So this is why stuff that is on top of stairs, or chests stacked really high that interfere with the floor above (or soulstones which are too tall for a house usually), etc go in the crate.

Luckily with short walls that issue can be avoided, you just have to raise the flowers (or whatever) high enough that they are no longer competing with the short walls over that z axis space. I usually do them about 8 - 10 or so times up, tho it probably takes less than that. So place flowers, raise them up a bunch, then do your custom thing and then lower the flowers when you're done customizing where they look nice.

Regarding the lighthouse, I also own both Blanche Island plots It is possible to make a neat little one in the other 7x7 space, using the thick curved stone walls. The only problem is it doesn't leave you much room for outside deco I built one but then decided to drop it and just make a little garden for people to relax in while they do their Level 6 T-maps
