Trojan Horse(s)?

There may be a simple answer that I'm not aware of, but..Why are we building these Nexuses all over the land that are then creating minons and who knows what else?
Maybe I don't know enough lore but aren't they evil?
We all know what happened to the Trojans when they accepted the seemingly innocent Greek gift.
Please tell me why I have it wrong and I'll bring one into my home.

It's probably jsut a simple answer. We have gifts that produce resources over time, now we have a gift that produces spawn, no more no less. Working as intended.

I hear what you're saying. Simple. So maybe I'm just a little dense on this point but from a rp pov why would we want to create our own potential invasion? I just read Catskills has Overseers spawning outside Luna. I like gifts but not ones that want to kill me. Ha.

We are fixing something that wants to destroy us. Why is something you have to ask yourself but those that are RPing from an evil perspective could be thinking that they will get something for their efforts. Thats the best bet I have.

No suprise there. I always said you were speaking Greek to me. In all seriousness he says it pretty well Exodus maybe evil and want to destroy the world but many think they can get benifits from using him. Thats probably why folks are doing it. Or most likely why not do it. The devs generally do not let player inaction effect the scripted story lines so if you don't do it you get nothing and Exodus comes back. If you do do it you get an item and Exodus comes back.

I have since moved my Archer out of my Castle. She wants no part of this Nexus thing that sits atop the roof like some unsightly beast.

Sure some say I might be taking the RP a bit too far...but she was against blowing up Mag...wanted no part of the rubble nonsense and has now become a key figure in helping the city fight back the rioters and protestors.

To those of you who know me, my tamer is the one that was infected by blackrock, heard voices for the first time during the Ricardo trials and carries more then one piece of the vile substance on her person at all times.

She was more then happy to bring the evil mechanical monster home and place it proudly next to the soulforge, which my timid Crafter refuses to use now :/

Regarding RP justification of messing around in the Exodus Dungeon......Several are possible. On Great Lakes, one of the EM characters referred to it as "investigating." A character on Great Lakes specifically wants to summon Exodus under the theory that this will make him killable. Some characters probably want to summon Exodus to make him triumphant. Some characters don't think this actually will summon Exodus and perhaps consider it harmless deco, a nice momento of puzzle solving in the mechanical dungeon. Some might just think it's new and shiny and simply not think about the potential consequences until it's far too late. Some might simply disagree that any harmful consequences are likely.

For my part, I have characters combing around the dungeon investigating (as an admittedly risky attempt to get out in front of whatever's going on in Ilshenar), but none of them are putting up a Nexus. After the event's long-over Galen will sell the deeds and make a few quid.

Exactly..I'll bet the majority think of this as a fun puzzle- solving type of quest/event (which it is) with no real result except, as you said, "a nice momento". Then there's the "Greeks" *nods towards LordDrago* who may have an idea of what may or may not be coming and are choosing sides by helping the infilltration. Not that I'm paranoid or anything. ha ha.

I have four up now. 3 in one house and 1 in another. I have space for several more. I will place one for each person reporting they are not placing any -until I run out of room.

By the way, as quests go, this one is kind of fun.

Nice work, have yours been spawning Minions, as others have reported? And ya it's fun, I enjoyed last nights Exodus event on Chessy.

Well, the problem is that if you take a roleplaying perspective, then you wouldn't know about the precedence of the Trojan horse ;)

There are known connections between Sosaria and Earth.

And even if there weren't, it doesn't take the cultural association of the Trojan Horse to understand, and fear, the essentials of the tactic.

I know several characters that are trying to figure out a way to smuggle several of these into Luna without the guards interfering. :D

Anyone interested in seeing one...The EM event on Chessy on Sunday was to go to Exodus with Tinker and collect what was needed then build it..I participated before I realized what may be happening. Guess I can't claim innocence any longer ha.. Anyway, it's East of Moonglow alongside the mage's house used for events. 36.13N 122.38W.. Be warned, I heard that others have started producing Overseers's
